Abstract

A dispensing valve 60 to be used with a bottle B of fluid developer in a copying machine. The valve is so structured that it can be assembled more rapidly and easily than existing dispensing valves used for the same purpose. The valve 60 has a body 62 which can be screwed onto the neck of the bottle B, and an actuating spindle 88 carrying a valve plug 84 of elastomeric material which is biased against a valve seat 70 by a compression spring 100. The valve plug 84 is held on a reduced diameter portion 90 of spindle 88 between shoulders 92 and 96. The spring 100 acts between a spider 74 in the valve body 62 and a flange 102 permanently fixed to or formed integrally with the spindle 88. The valve holds the valve plug 84 and the biasing spring 100 in proper relative position on the actuating spindle 88 without the use of retaining rings and does not require a jig for its assembly. <IMAGE> [GB2077886A]
