Abstract

1456567 Valves CELANESE CORP 26 July 1974 [4 Sept 1973] 33171/74 Heading F2V The seating 7 upstream and downstream of a valve member 9 in a ball valve is formed integral with the plastics casing and provided with lips 6, which extend without stress over a plane surface 15 on the member 9 when it is in the open position (as shown in Fig. 6) and which are flexed to effect a line closure at 26 when the member is in the closed position (as shown in Fig. 7). The plastics material is selected from the polyolefins, epoxies, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene nylons, acrylics, polyacetals, polyvinyl plastics and polystyrenes.
