Abstract
1474258 Oxyhalogenation catalyst RHONEPROGIL SA 2 Sept 1974 [4 Sent 19731 38272/74 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] A pulverluent fluidisable oxyhalogenation catalyst charge comprises 5 to 50% wt of particles of an oxyhalogenation catalyst and 95 to 50% wt of particles of at least one solid substance that is catalytically and chemically inert in the oxyhalogenation reaction and that acts to stabilise the granulometry but not as a support for the catalyst, the average diameter of the catalyst particles being greater than the average diameter of the particles of the inert solid substance. The diluent may be alphaalumina, glass beads or siliceous sand. The catalyst may comprise an inorganic copper salt, e.g. the chloride, deposited on an activated alumina support of surface area 150-400 sq. m/gm. The charge may be of a particle size 20-200 microns with a mean diameter of 40-90 microns.
