Abstract

1,178,511. Calendars. TEXTRON Inc. May 13, 1968 [Jan. 19, 1968], No.22541/68. Heading G3T. [Also in Division A3] A calendar device 100 is incorporated in the bracelet 200 of a watch. The calendar 141 is mounted on a support 148 and its ends are connected to arbors 142, 143 which are rotatable in bearings formed partially by the extremities of the support and partially by spring flanges 146, 147. The spring flanges bear against the arbors to which wheels 144, 145 are attached and provide sufficient friction to prevent movement of the calendar after it has been set at the appropriate month. The calendar and its support are mounted in a base 120 to which a cover 110 is secured by a spring bar 101 passing through aligned holes 126 and 116 in the base and the cover respectively. A crystal 112, which magnifies the calendar, snaps in a window 111 in the cover. The wheels 144, 145 extend through slots 114, 115 in the cover so that the calendar, which is made of a thin film of polyester material, can be advanced at the end of each month by rotating the wheel 144. Movement of the calendar to a previous date is effected by rotating the wheel 145. A loop 121 on end of the base 120 to the bracelet by means of a connector 201 whilst a loop 122 and a spring bar 301 connect the other end of the base to the watch. [GB1178511A]
