Abstract

1,223,575. Pipe connection; joint-making- packing. WAVIN N.V. 4 Oct., 1968 [6 Oct., 1967], No. 47241/68. Headings F2B and F2G A pipe connection, for synthetic plastics pipes 2, 4, comprises a male portion 3, a female portion 1, a sealing ring 5 held between the portions and locking means 13, 14 securing the portions together, the sealing-ring 5 haying a lip 7 capable of limited radial movement in the mated position of the portions and a sealing part 11 between the lip 7 and the open end 10 of the female portion, which sealing part co-operates with the outer wall 9 of the male portion to seal the connection against ingress of the external atmosphere when a partial vacuum exists within the portions. The locking means 13, 14 form part of a bayonet connection. The pipes 2, 4 are secured to the respective portions 1, 3, by gluing. [GB1223575A]
