Abstract

A wet-dry, hand-held vacuum cleaner comprises a housing 22 which encloses a suction fan/motor unit 28,30 and a canister 24 having a nozzle 44 and a storage chamber 46 for dirt and/or water removably attached to the front end of the housing. A partition 70 comprising hood 68 is provided between canister and housing to deflect liquid entering the canister away from the inlet to the suction fan/motor unit. A flow valve 64 may also be provided at the end of the nozzle where it enters the storage chamber. The motor may be battery driven. A battery charger 40 may be located within handle 26. <IMAGE>
