In contrast to forged, overmolded metal handles that contact the entire container sidewall and are exposed to combustion exhaust gases exiting the pot, the handle assembly of the present invention can be maintained at a lower temperature because less heat is transferred to the grip portion, as the contact area with the flange can be minimized to weld or other attachment areas.
