Detailed Description
The present invention relates to a simple, inexpensive and compact device for winding watches with an automatic winding mechanism.
These means comprise means for generating a rotating field, i.e. a field whose magnetic and/or electrostatic field and/or whose strength and/or direction can be varied over time. As will be seen hereinafter, this field, referred to as the rotating field, may be spread out along any straight line, circle or other contour.
The principle of the invention is to drive the movable part by means of electromagnetic force or by means of eddy currents, depending on the material forming the movable part, to charge a mechanical energy accumulator, such as a barrel, with mechanical energy or to drive a micro-generator to charge the accumulator. The movable components driven by electromagnetic forces are referred to herein as "oscillating pendulums" and generally take the form of conventional mechanically oscillating pendulums in a disc sector. The movable part driven by means of eddy currents preferably comprises a closed surface about a pivot axis and is similar to a disc and is referred to as such in the following description. The oscillating weight can be expanded without being limited to a translating mechanical weight, for example.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, these winding devices are combined in a table for optimal operation.
Although the winding devices according to the invention are in principle capable of driving a conventional steel oscillating weight, they are not best suited to driving an oscillating weight made of gold or in the form of sectors that do not allow an optimal flow of eddy currents.
The present invention has been developed to allow existing oscillating pendulums to be easily adapted to winding mechanisms without significant changes to the movement. It is suitable to simply replace a standard oscillating weight with a weight having a specific material composition.
In a variant using eddy current drive, the invention proposes to add a disc preferably coaxial with the mechanically oscillating weight of the watch. Therefore, this original oscillating mechanical pendulum must remain in place to ensure winding or driving when the watch is worn. Thus limiting the modifications to the movement, in particular because the disc can be mounted independently of the mechanically oscillating weight or integrally therewith to engage with the same driving ratchet of the barrel or with a separate ratchet. This can of course be replaced by a micro-generator drive. The problems associated with driving a barrel so as to wind it are well known to those skilled in the art and will not be addressed here.
The choice of material for the movable element for the watch band is guided by its optimal behaviour according to the type of field to which the movable element is subjected.
In the following description, a "magnetically permeable" material refers to a material having a relative magnetic permeability between 10 and 10000, such as steel, for example having a relative magnetic permeability close to 100 for a pendulum shaft, or close to 4000 for steel typically used in electrical circuits, or other alloys having a relative magnetic permeability up to a value of 8000 to 10000.
For example, in the case of a pole piece, a "magnetic material" refers to a material that can be magnetized to have a remanent magnetic field between 0.1 and 1.5 tesla, such as, for example, "neodymium iron boron," which has a remanent magnetic field of approximately 512kJ/m3And provides a residual magnetic field of 0.5 to 1.3 tesla. In the case of a magnetic material of this type in a magnetized pair in combination with a magnetically permeable diamagnetic member having a high magnetic permeability, which has a high magnetic permeability in the range from 100 to 10000, a lower level of residual magnetic field can be used near the lower limit of the above range.
"ferromagnetic material" refers to a material having the following properties: at a temperature T of 23 ℃ the saturation field Bs is greater than 0, at that temperatureThe coercive field Hc is more than 0 at the temperature T of 23 ℃, and the maximum magnetic permeability mu at the temperature T of 23 DEG CRThe Curie temperature Tc is more than 60 ℃.
More specifically, "soft magnetic material" refers to a material having a small coercive field (Hc < 1000A/m) and a narrow hysteresis loop.
More specifically, "hard magnetic material" refers to a material having a large coercive field (Hc > 3000A/m) and a wide hysteresis loop, such as a permanent magnet.
By "paramagnetic" material is meant a material having a relative magnetic permeability of between 1.0001 and 100, for example for a gasket interposed between a magnetic material and a magnetically permeable diamagnetic member or between two magnetic materials, for example a gasket between a member and a pole piece. For example, low paramagnetic materials are: aluminum, gold, brass or similar material (having a magnetic permeability less than 2).
The present invention relates to various devices:
a winding movable part 50 incorporated in the watch movement and formed by one or more "oscillating" pendulums 1, 3, 5 and/or one or more discs 20. The winding movable member 50 is driven by:
○ are magnetically or electrostatically attracted and/or repelled, or
○ by means of eddy currents;

The movable part 50 for automatic winding of watches comprises a guide part 2 on its pivot axis D. The movable part 50 is inscribed in a cylinder with maximum radius RMAX centred on said axis D and comprises driving means for driving a charging mechanism, such as a ratchet or the like for driving a barrel.

In combination with these two tungsten-based embodiments, in a further particular embodiment, the second peripheral portion 9 comprises at least 20% by mass of iron.

Fig. 4 shows a movable part 50 for winding comprising at least one oscillating weight 5 with magnets, this movable part 50 for winding comprising at least one member 6 made of hard magnetic material, this member 6 being eccentric with respect to said guide member 2.
In another variant, not illustrated, the movable member 50 for winding comprises at least one charged portion, advantageously comprising an electret, for driving the movable member 50 by means of a variable electrostatic field.
It should be understood that the regions which can be driven by electromagnetic forces or by electrostatic forces or by eddy currents can be combined in the same movable part and in particular on different paths, on different diameters and/or on different faces and/or on different stages: there are many possible combinations that are not discussed here to avoid making the specification lengthy.
For the variant with eddy current drive, fig. 5 shows a movable part 50 for winding comprising at least one disc 20, the disc 20 comprising at least one paramagnetic ring around said pivot axis D, which drives said movable part 50 by means of eddy currents.
The invention also relates to an automatic winding mechanism 10 of a watch located inside the watch, the automatic winding mechanism 10 of the watch comprising at least one mechanically oscillating weight 3 for charging at least one barrel or accumulator with mechanical energy.
According to the invention, this winding mechanism 10 comprises, in addition to or instead of at least one mechanically oscillating weight 3, at least one movable member 50 for winding as described above.
In particular, at least one movable element for winding 50 comprises at least one cut 40.

In another embodiment of the invention, for charging at least one barrel or accumulator with mechanical energy, the watch 200 comprises only one paramagnetic conductive disc 20 or a plurality of such discs 20, said discs 20 being arranged for charging at least one barrel or an accumulator or a micro-generator and an accumulator with mechanical energy.
The invention also comprises an automatic watch winding device 300 comprising at least one electric drive or an accumulator and at least one lug 301 for a watch.
The electric drive or accumulator is advantageously housed in a base provided with photovoltaic cells 309 as shown in figure 1, in order to supply the electric field generating means with electricity.
The rest 301 comprises a support surface 302 for receiving the back cover of the watch in abutment.
According to the invention, the device 300 comprises a generating device 310 for generating a magnetic and/or electrostatic field, which generating device 310 is arranged at a fixed position in the emission area 303 below the support surface 302 and generates at least one magnetic and/or electrostatic "rotating" field that can be varied in time in direction and/or strength and/or orientation on at least one path 340.
In the particular embodiment according to fig. 8, said path 340 comprises at least one rectilinear segment 307 of the substantially rectilinear emission area 303. The generating device 310 generates at least one magnetic and/or electrostatic field on the at least one linear section 307, which is oriented orthogonally or substantially orthogonally to the bearing surface 302 and whose intensity and/or orientation may vary over time.
Fig. 9 shows a variant in which the path 340 comprises a plurality of such independent straight sections 307A, 307B: a rotating field is applied successively to each of the segments.
In the preferred embodiment shown in fig. 7, the path 340 includes at least one angular sector 304 of the substantially annular emission area 303. The generating means 310 generate at least one magnetic and/or electrostatic field over the at least one angular sector 304, which is directed orthogonally or substantially orthogonally to the bearing surface 302 and whose intensity and/or orientation may vary over time.
In a particular embodiment, the generating means 310 generate a plurality of such magnetic and/or electrostatic fields on the emission area 303 that are parallel to each other in a direction orthogonal to the support surface 302 and each of which may vary in intensity and/or direction over time.
In the advantageous embodiment shown in fig. 1, the generating means 310 comprise an array of coils 305 over all or a part of the emitting area 303.
In the particular embodiment shown in fig. 1, 7, 8 and 9, the generating means 310 generate a magnetic and/or electrostatic field that reciprocates alternately from one end of the angular sector 304 to the other end over an angular sector 304 of less than 240 ° centered on the median axis of the bearing surface 302. When the watch is placed on the supporting surface 302 via its back cover 201, the winding axis D of the watch to be wound substantially coincides with this middle axis.
The trajectory 308 of the receiving path that drives the movable part 50 is shown in fig. 8 and 9. Fig. 7 shows a practically effective restriction 306 of the emission area 303 in this case. It should be noted that, where necessary, the generating means 310 can be controlled to reverse the field and brake it in case of an excessively high rotational speed of the movable part 50.
In another embodiment, the generating means 310 generates a magnetic and/or electrostatic field in a single rotational direction over all 360 ° of the supporting surface 302.
Naturally, the physical means for generating the rotating field may be the same, such as a complete circular array of coils 305, wherein a particular coil or all coils may be enabled depending on the selected control mode. To this end, the device 300 advantageously comprises regulation and control means 320 for controlling the generating means 310.
In this preferred case, the regulating and control means 320 comprise time management means and control the magnetic and/or electrostatic field to be generated at predetermined moments or upon reception of a signal.
These regulating and control means 320 control the magnetic and/or electrostatic fields to be generated in the form of a "rotating" field having a rotational speed Ω along the angular sector 304 or emission area 303.
In a particular control mode, the regulating and control means 320 accelerate the rotational speed Ω of the rotating field from the moment of the start of the field generation to the moment of the stop of the acceleration after a predetermined duration.
Advantageously, the regulation and control means 320 comprise receiving means 330 arranged to measure the position and/or the speed of the movable element 50 for winding driven under the effect of the variation of the magnetic and/or electrostatic field and to be able to apply a counter-field in the event of an excessive rotation speed of the movable element 50.
It should be understood that the adjustment and control means 320 may define a specific period of field variation if the emission area 303 comprises coils or more generally field generating means over its entire circumference in a preferred manner. For example, the pendulum can first be set to move in an alternating motion with a certain amplitude, and then the amplitude is modified, or the alternating motion is converted into a continuous motion. The tool is extremely flexible and is limited only by the capacity of the drive means 320.
In another variant, automatic watch winding device 300 comprises at least one electric drive or an accumulator and at least one lug 301 for a watch, lug 301 comprising a bearing surface 302 intended to receive in abutment the back cover of the watch. The apparatus 300 comprises motor means for driving at least one pole piece and/or electrode piece on the emission area 303 below the support surface 302 and generating at least one magnetic and/or electrostatic field on at least one path 340, the direction and/or intensity and/or orientation of which may vary over time. More specifically, the winding mechanism comprises at least one motor driving one or more magnets and/or electrets coupled to magnets and/or electrets on the movable member for winding.
The invention also concerns a timepiece assembly 400 including at least one device 300 as described above and at least one watch 200 as described above.
According to the invention, the device 300 of the assembly 400 comprises such adjustment and control means 320 for controlling the generating means 310, and these adjustment and control means 320 and generating means 310 are suitable and set to drive at least one movable element 50 for winding comprising:
at least one magnetic "oscillating" pendulum 1 or "oscillating" pendulum 5 with magnets included in said at least one watch 200 for charging at least one barrel or accumulator with mechanical energy or for driving a micro-generator to charge an accumulator, or
At least one paramagnetic conductive disc 20 coaxial to said mechanical "oscillating" pendulum 3 comprised in said at least one watch 200, disc 20 being arranged like mechanical "oscillating" pendulum 3 for charging at least one barrel or accumulator with mechanical energy or for driving a micro-generator to charge an accumulator, or
At least one magnetic "oscillating" pendulum 1 included in said at least one watch 200 and at least one paramagnetic conductive disc 20 coaxial to a mechanical "oscillating" pendulum 3 also included in said at least one watch 200, for charging at least one barrel or accumulator with mechanical energy or for driving a micro-generator to charge an accumulator,
to drive at least one magnetic "oscillating" pendulum 1 or "oscillating" pendulum 5 with magnets by means of magnetic coupling as the case may be, and/or to drive said at least one disc 20 by means of eddy currents.
The present invention allows for various winding mechanism configurations within the watch.
Thus, the mechanical winding and magnetic/electrostatic/eddy current winding functions may for example be unrelated to such elements: these elements are dedicated to one of these functions, one oscillating on the other, and they may or may not be integral or coupled to each other, and are preferably coaxial. This allows each of these elements to be optimized for its own function and can limit the space requirements and the quality of the winding mechanism as a whole.
The mechanical winding function can be arranged in parallel (or in series) by subjecting the watch to acceleration by a magnetic/electrostatic/eddy current source.
Thanks to the invention, watches that already comprise a conventional mechanical oscillating weight can be easily changed by adding another energy-charged movable part, a magnetic oscillating weight, an oscillating weight with magnets or a paramagnetic conductive disc.
Each of these movable parts can be coupled to an energy accumulator, either alone or by means of the same mechanism as the existing mechanically oscillating pendulum.
Uncoupling the functions may also allow the mechanical winding mechanism to perform a rotational movement while the magnetic part performs another movement, such as a translation, or vice versa. In this case, a coupling is required between two specific axes towards the barrel. The advantage is that other mechanical options are available for converting this translational motion into a smaller area of the movement. In this case, there is a reciprocating motion along an axis and no longer only along the angular sector.
In the case of alternating operation, the reciprocating movement can be limited by the adjusting and control device 320 or by a mechanical limitation or a combination of both solutions.
The complete, continuous and accelerated rotation of movable part 50 for winding is highly specific to the timepiece assembly according to the invention.
When the so-called "rotating" field in fact alternates, it can alternate in a simplified embodiment at two positions on the same axis, which is easily achieved in the winding mechanism.
Another solution consists in setting in position the magnets displaced on the arbour in the winding device and, depending on the case, driving the translation of magnetic oscillating weight 1 or oscillating weight 5 with magnets, on the side of watch 200.
Most common movements can be wound in two directions, wherein the torque is more or less the same in both directions.
With a one-way winding movement, the pendulum is essentially free in one direction.
The imbalance of the bob generally varies from 70 to 300 μ N · m.
Inertia of about 200 g.mm2
One example of a size is based on the "ETAA 16" movement: a barrel with 100% winding keeps the oscillating weight at an angle of 25 ° to 45 °, which corresponds to a maximum torque of 210 μ Nm (═ imbalance × sin45 °).
To achieve a 90 ° rotation of the pendulum, the imbalance and mainspring torque must be added together, i.e. about 500 μ N · m.
To ensure filling, the dead angle of the ratchet and barrel pawl must be exceeded, i.e. at least 30 ° of effective angular movement is required to pass through the pawl slot of the reverser mechanism and the pawl slot of the barrel ratchet.
In order to be able to apply the band by means of the crown, the speed at the stem must not exceed 100 revolutions per minute, which corresponds to 4000 revolutions per minute of the oscillating weight.
For a power reserve of at least 72 hours, it is generally necessary to oscillate the pendulum through 2000 revolutions in order to completely wind the watch.
The sintered tungsten has a thickness of about 18g/cm3Mass density of (2).
The core of the oscillating weight is generally made of brass and has a thickness of about 0.3 to 0.4 mm.
Tungsten beads may be mixed with iron beads.
The winding device 300 according to the invention makes it possible to completely wind any watch in 5 minutes with a speed Ω of 5 revolutions per second.
The air gap between the coil 305 and the movable winding member 50 is selected to be in the range of 2 to 3 mm.
