Description

Device and method for directly fixing at least one temple, bridge and/or nose piece of a spectacle frame to at least one lens of rimless spectacles
Technical Field
The invention relates to a device for directly fixing at least one temple, a bridge and/or a nose piece of a frame to at least one lens of rimless spectacles, and to a corresponding method.
Background
Spectacles without rims, and more precisely rimless spectacles, are widely known in the prior art. Rimless spectacles of this type usually have a frame comprising frame parts, preferably a nose bridge for connecting two lenses in the nose region, and two temples, wherein the temples are connected to the lenses of the rimless spectacles directly or via hinge elements and stubs. In the known rimless spectacles, the free end of the nose piece or of the temple or the stub is fixed directly to the lens and more precisely to the lens by means of a pin element fixed to the respective frame part, which pin element passes through a hole in the lens and is braced on the opposite side with the lens by means of a locking means.
Disadvantageously, this type of direct attachment of the frame components to the lenses of rimless eyewear often results in lens damage when undesirable forces act on the frame. Due to the holes for receiving the pin elements, which pass through the lens in the transverse direction, forces are introduced into the lens substantially in a point-like manner and can therefore lead to damage to the lens, in particular to the edge-side breaking of the lens, in the region of the holes.
Disclosure of Invention
Starting from this, the object of the invention is to provide a device for directly fastening at least one temple, a bridge and/or a nose piece of a frame to at least one lens of rimless glasses, which device overcomes the disadvantages known from the prior art and, in particular, enables a visually simple and extremely stable connection of the frame parts to the at least one lens of rimless glasses. The object according to the invention is achieved by a device according to the invention for directly fixing at least one temple, a bridge and/or a nose piece of a frame to at least one lens of rimless spectacles. In addition, the subject of the invention is a method for directly fixing at least one temple, a bridge and/or a nose piece of a frame to at least one lens of rimless spectacles.
An important aspect of the device according to the invention for directly fixing at least one temple, peg and/or nose piece of a frame to at least one lens of rimless spectacles is that a fastening body made of plastic, which has a socket-like receiving channel extending along a transverse axis, is received in a form-fitting manner in an edge recess and is fixedly connected flush with the lens by means of adhesive bonding, and the temple, peg and/or nose piece of the frame has at least one plug-like connecting section which is formed by at least one free end section of the temple, peg and/or nose piece, which is made of a flat strip and which can be inserted into the socket-like receiving channel in order to establish a detachable plug connection in the form of a snap-on connection. It is particularly advantageous that the frame part can be fixed directly to the lenses of rimless spectacles quickly and simply by positive engagement of the fixing bodies, which form the connecting slots, in the recesses of the lenses. The fixing body and the associated frame part are preferably prefabricated by machine, so that the optical instrument manufacturer can use the fixing body and the associated frame part immediately without great technical and manual effort. It is also advantageous that the planar connection of the respective frame part to the rimless spectacle lens via the fastening body significantly reduces the risk of damage to the lens under undesired forces. Finally, thanks to the detachable plug-in connection, the same lens can also be used with frames having different designs, so that the wearer of the spectacles can adjust the colour and shape of their frame, for example according to his actual needs.
By "the fixing body is positively received in the recess" is understood that the fixing body engages positively in a recess extending along the transverse axis of the lens in such a way that a movement of the fixing body in the lens plane perpendicular to the transverse axis of the lens is thereby prevented. Preferably, at least one third of the width of the fixing body is received in the recess in a form-fitting manner.
It is also advantageous if the fixing body is made of plastic, metal or a combination of plastic and metal, preferably of an at least partially transparent plastic material. In the case of a transparent design of the fastening body, the connection of the frame to the lenses of the rimless spectacles can hardly be visually recognized, in order to obtain the simplest direct fastening for rimless spectacles. The outer contour of the lens is thus not interrupted by the attachment of the frame, but is retained.
Preferably, the edge-side recess has a U-shaped or V-shaped cross-section and extends conically along an axis perpendicular to the transverse axis and perpendicular to the lens plane accommodating the lens. This allows a particularly stable connection of the frame part to at least one lens of the rimless spectacles.
It is also advantageous if the outer shape of the fixing body is adapted to the shape of the edge-side recess, and if the fixing body which engages in the edge-side recess is flush-connected, preferably adhesively bonded, to the lens. Whereby the recess in the lens is completely closed and a flush lens surface is obtained.
In a preferred embodiment, the socket-like receiving channel runs conically along the transverse axis and the plug-like connecting section is formed by at least one free end section of a temple, a temple and/or a nose piece of the frame, the plug-like connecting section being formed by a flat strip, preferably a metal or metal alloy strip. Due to the conical guidance of the plug-like connection section in the socket-like receiving channel, a detachable plug connection which is particularly easy to use for the user can be established.
It is also advantageous if the detachable plug connection is designed as a snap-on plug connection. For this purpose, the plug-like connection section has a projection section, and the fastening body has a bore which is connected to the socket-like receiving channel and/or at least one hemispherical recess for at least partially receiving the projection section. Advantageously, the bore may have an internal thread for receiving a screw device.
It is particularly advantageous if the edge-side recess is open at least towards the front side of the lens and extends at least over a part of the thickness of the lens from the front side towards the rear side. In the case of lenses having a small thickness, the edge-side recess can additionally also be open towards the rear side of the lens and extend over the entire thickness of the lens.
In a preferred embodiment, the plug-like connecting section can also be formed by a cap-like connecting element which can be slipped onto the free end of the respective temple or the respective temples and/or the free end of the nose bridge. Advantageously, existing temples can also be equipped with the plug connection system according to the invention.
The invention also relates to a method for directly fixing at least one temple, a bridge and/or a nose piece of a frame to at least one lens of rimless spectacles, wherein at least one edge-side recess extending along a transverse axis of the lens is machined in the at least one lens. An important aspect of the method according to the invention is that a fastening body is inserted in a form-fitting manner into the edge recess and is fixedly connected to the lens, wherein the fastening body has a socket-like receiving channel extending along the transverse axis, and the temple, the bridge and/or the nose piece of the frame have at least one plug-like connecting section, and the plug-like connecting section is inserted into the socket-like receiving channel in order to establish a detachable plug connection. This makes it possible to mount the frame directly on the lenses of rimless spectacles particularly easily and quickly.
It is particularly advantageous if the fixing body, which is positively inserted into the edge recess, is flush with the lens, preferably adhesively bonded.
The expressions "approximately", "substantially" or "approximately" mean within the meaning of the invention a deviation from the respective precise value of +/-10%, preferably +/-5%, and/or a deviation from a functionally unimportant variant.
Further developments, advantages and application possibilities of the invention emerge from the following description of an exemplary embodiment and from the drawings. All the described and/or illustrated features are subject matter of the invention in principle, either by themselves or in any combination, independently of their generalization in the claims or their citations. The content of the claims also forms part of the description.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 and 2 each show a schematic front view of a rimless spectacle 1, which comprises two lenses 2, 2' and a spectacle frame 3 with several components.
For example, the frame 3 shown in fig. 1 comprises a first and a second temple 3.1, 3.2 and a nose pad 3.3, two pads 4, 4' being preferably provided on the nose pad 3.3 for supporting the rimless spectacles 1 on the nose of the spectacle wearer. The free ends of the respective temple pieces 3.1, 3.2 are connected directly to the lenses 2, 2'.
In the embodiment according to fig. 2, the free ends of the first and second temple 3.1, 3.2 are not directly connected with the lens 2, 2', but are connected with the lens by means of the first and second stubs 3.6, 3.7 via the first and second hinge elements 3.4, 3.5. In the present exemplary embodiment, the first temple 3.1 is therefore connected in an articulated manner via a first hinge element 3.4 to a first stub 3.6, the free end of which is connected directly to the edge of the left side lens 2 of the rimless spectacles 1 on the left side in front view. Similarly, the second temple 3.2 is hinged via a second hinge element 3.5 to a second stub 3.7, the free end of which is directly connected to the right-outer edge of the right lens 2' of the rimless spectacles 1 in front view.
The invention is in no way limited to the embodiment of the frame 3 shown in fig. 1 and 2, but encompasses all embodiments of the components of the frame 3 which are suitable for being fixed directly to the lenses 2, 2' of the rimless spectacles 1 by means of the free ends of the components of the frame 3.
According to the invention, the lens 2, 2' has at least one edge-side recess 5, 5', 5 "'. In the present exemplary embodiment, two edge-side recesses 5, 5', 5 "' are provided in the opposite lateral edge sections of the lenses 2, 2' for each lens 2, 2', in order to be able to fix both the nose piece 3.3 and the first and second temple 3.1, 3.2 or the first and second stub 3.6, 3.7 directly to the lens 2, 2 '.
The edge-side recesses 5, 5', 5 ", 5 '" extend along a transverse axis QA of the rimless spectacles 1 and preferably over the entire thickness S of the lenses 2, 2', i.e. from the front side 2a to the rear side 2b of the lenses 2, 2', wherein the transverse axis QA extends in the lens plane E accommodating the lenses 2, 2 '. In the case of lenses having a high thickness S, the edge-side recesses 5, 5', 5 ", 5'" are open at least towards the front side 2a of the lenses 2, 2 'and extend at least over a part of the thickness S of the lenses 2, 2' from the front side 2a towards the rear side 2b according to the embodiment shown in fig. 10.
According to the embodiment shown in fig. 5, the edge-side recesses 5, 5', 5 ", 5'" are additionally also open towards the rear side 2b of the lenses 2, 2 'and thus extend over the entire thickness S of the lenses 2, 2'. A through-opening, open on the edge side and outside the main field of view, is thus formed in the lens 2, 2'. The edge-side recesses 5, 5', 5 ", 5'" preferably each have the same cross-sectional shape and more precisely have a U-shaped, V-shaped or trapezoidal cross-section.
According to the invention, the edge-side recess 5, 5', 5 "' is designed to receive the fixing body 6, 6', 6"' in a form-fitting manner. The fixing bodies 6, 6', 6 "', which are accommodated in the edge-side recesses 5, 5', 5"', form-fittingly are fixedly connected to the lens, preferably adhesively bonded or welded to the lens. The fixing bodies 6, 6', 6 "' are inserted into the respective edge-side recesses 5, 5', 5"' of the lenses 2, 2 'in such a way that a flush transition is formed between the outwardly pointing surface of the fixing bodies 6, 6', 6 "'and the surface of the respective lens 2, 2' adjoining these fixing bodies and enclosing the edge-side recesses 5, 5', 5"'. Thus, in a preferred embodiment the fixation bodies 6, 6', 6 "' completely fill the respective recesses 5, 5', 5" ', thereby forming lenses 2, 2' with a closed edge curve. The fixing body 6, 6', 6 "' is therefore accommodated at least in the edge-side recess 5, 5', 5"' in such a way that it extends flush or approximately flush with the front side 2a of the lens 2.
The fixing bodies 6, 6', 6 ", 6'" are made, for example, of metal, plastic or of a combination of metal and plastic. In a preferred embodiment an at least partially transparent plastic material is used. In the case of a completely transparent plastic material, the visual effect of a closed lens surface is obtained, in particular also in the region of the recesses 5, 5', 5 "' of the lenses 2, 2 '.
Fig. 3 and 4 each show an enlarged partial view of a lateral fixing region of the front side 2a and the rear side 2b of the lens 2 according to fig. 1 and 2, in which the fixing body 6 is already accommodated in an edge-side recess 5. The surface portions of the fixing body 6 which lie against one another in a form-fitting manner are bonded to the inner surface of the edge-side recess 5 of the lens.
Fig. 5 shows a cross-section along the axis I-I of the fixing area with the recess 5 of the lens 2 according to fig. 3. The front side 2a of the lens 2 facing away from the spectacle wearer and the rear side 2b of the lens 2 facing the spectacle wearer have different opening widths of the edge-side recess 5, and the opening width Wa of the recess 5 on the front side 2a of the lens 2 is greater than the opening width Wb of the recess 5 on the rear side 2b of the lens. Thus, the recess 5 extends conically along an axis perpendicular to the transverse axis QA and to the lens plane E. The upper and lower sides of the fixing body 6 are adapted accordingly such that they also run conically.
Fig. 6 and 7 each show a longitudinal section through two embodiments of the fastening body 6. According to the invention, a slot-like receiving channel 7 extending along the transverse axis QA is provided in the fixing body 6, which is designed to establish a detachable plug connection with the temple 3.1, 3.2, the stub 3.6, 3.7 and/or the plug-like connecting section 8 of the nose piece 3.3 of the frame 3. For this purpose, the legs 3.1, 3.2, the stubs 3.6, 3.7 and/or the plug-like connecting sections 8 of the nose piece 3.3 of the frame 3 can be inserted through the edge-side opening into the slot-like receiving channel 7.
The plug-in channel 7 is adapted in terms of its shape and size to a plug-like connection section 8, which is preferably formed by the free end sections of the temples 3.1, 3.2, the stubs 3.6, 3.7 and/or the nose piece 3.3 of the frame 3. The socket-like receiving channel 7 preferably runs conically along the transverse axis QA and/or along an axis running perpendicular to the transverse axis QA and the lens plane E in order to ensure an easier insertion of the plug-like connection section 8 into the socket-like receiving channel 7. The slot-like receiving channel 7 here has an essentially elongate shape.
For establishing the snap-on plug connection, a hole 9 (fig. 6) extending perpendicular to the transverse axis QA and the lens plane E or a hemispherical recess 9' extending from the socket-like receiving channel 7 towards the rear side 2b or the front side 2a of the lens 2 can be provided in the fixing body 6. The hole 9 or the hemispherical recess 9 'is provided for receiving a laterally protruding raised section 8' provided on the plug-like connection section 8. After the plug-like connection section 8 has been completely inserted into the socket-like receiving channel 7, the projection section 8 'of the plug-like connection section 8 engages at least partially into the hole 9 or the hemispherical depression 9' and thus prevents an accidental release of the plug connection. The latching plug connection can only be released again when a predetermined tensile force is applied.
Fig. 8(a) to (d) show by way of example four different embodiments of such a plug-like connection section 8 for the free end of the temple 3.1 with a raised section 8'. The plug-shaped connecting section 8 is preferably made of a flat strip, preferably a metal or metal alloy strip, in which a semicircular curvature is formed in order to form a raised section 8'. Alternatively, the raised section 8' may be formed by applying a semicircular section of material and fixedly connecting it to the strip-shaped material. The convex section 8' may protrude laterally from the other plug-like connection section 8 extending substantially planar or straight towards the front side 2a or the rear side 2b of the lens.
In another embodiment, the bore 9 has an internal thread, via which a screw means can be screwed into the bore 9 to ensure additional fixing of the plug-like connection section 8 in the socket-like receiving channel 7 and thus in the fixing body 6, 6', 6 "'.
In a further embodiment according to fig. 9, for example, two hemispherical depressions 9' can also be provided, which extend in or parallel to the lens plane E. Fig. 11 and 12 show a plug-like connection section 8 with two raised sections 8', 8 ″ for establishing a plug connection with the embodiment of the fastening body 6 according to fig. 9. The plug-like connection section 8 is also preferably made of a flat strip, preferably a metal or metal alloy strip, and the two projecting sections 8', 8 ″ are produced by applying semicircular sections of material and fixedly connecting them to the strip. The raised sections 8', 8 ″ thus extend perpendicularly to the temple upper side and the temple lower side.
In an alternative embodiment, the plug-like connecting section 8 is formed by a cap-like connecting element 10 which can be slipped onto the free end of the respective temple 3.1, 3.2 or of the respective stub 3.6, 3.7 and/or of the nose piece 3.3. The cap-shaped connecting element 10 is preferably designed as a plastic part, in particular as a plastic injection-molded part, and has an inner receiving channel 10.1 for receiving the free end. The outer shape of the cap-shaped connecting element 10 is adapted to the inner shape of the socket-shaped receiving channel 7 of the fixing body 6, 6', 6 ", 6 '" and is formed, for example, with two laterally projecting raised sections 8', 8 ". In addition, securing means can be provided at the free end of the respective temple 3.1, 3.2 or of the respective stub 3.6, 3.7 and/or at the free end of the nose piece 3.3, which securing means prevent the cap-like connecting element 10 from being accidentally pulled out of the free end. This can be achieved, for example, by an at least partially hook-shaped contour of the outer surface of the free end portion.
The invention is explained above with the aid of examples. Of course, many variations and modifications are possible without departing from the inventive concept of the present invention.
