Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a foldable stroller for infants and toddlers.
Background
This type of stroller has two rear legs fitted with corresponding wheels, the wheels and their supports being arranged in the prolongations of the legs in the folded configuration of the stroller.
This construction is a characteristic feature of the so-called umbrella stroller, in which each rear leg is hinged at its upper end to a respective arm forming a handle bar and terminating in a respective handle, each front leg being hinged to the lower end of a respective one of said arms, these front legs being hinged to the rear leg by two crossed cross members.
These strollers may be folded at the central portions of their sides, which are folded together when the stroller is folded, but which still have a significant length once the stroller has been fully folded.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is a foldable stroller for infants and young children, which can be folded into a more compact folding structure, mainly due to its reduced length, which allows to arrange said stroller in a less bulky package, thus saving transportation costs and occupying less space in a warehouse.
To this end, the stroller is characterized in that the support member of the rear wheel is fitted to the lower end of the corresponding leg by a pin joint connection, allowing the support member to be folded with respect to the leg when the stroller is folded, so that the support member is arranged below the leg in the folded configuration.
The folding of the supports of the rear wheels is achieved in an automatic manner, since they are hinged to the rear ends of corresponding crossed cross members connecting the supports to the front legs.
These and other characteristic features will be more apparent from the detailed description which follows, and will be more easily understood from the accompanying drawings, which show a practical embodiment, cited purely by way of example and without limiting the scope of the invention.
Drawings
In the drawings:
figures 1 and 2 show a conventional pram for infants and small children in a deployed and folded configuration, respectively, in a perspective view and in a side view, respectively;
figures 3 and 4 are two perspective views showing how the support of the rear wheel is fitted to the corresponding leg according to the invention;
fig. 5 shows in perspective the wheel support which has been folded in the folding of the buggy; and is
Fig. 6 shows the structure of the support of the rear wheel in the folded state of the stroller in a side view.
Detailed Description
According to the accompanying drawings, figures 1 and 2 show a conventional umbrella stroller 1, the frame of which comprises a rear leg 2, the rear leg 2 being fitted below with wheels 3 and hinged above to an arm 4 forming a handle bar and terminating in a respective handle 5. The arm 4 is hinged at the lower side to a front leg 6 comprising a corresponding wheel 7. The front leg 6 and the rear leg 2 are hingedly connected to each other by two cross members 8 and 9 and between the front and rear legs, on each side, are fitted respective lateral side members 10 as support for the seat.
The baby carriage, object of the present invention, is characterized in that the support 11 of the wheel 3 is fitted to the lower end of the rear leg 2 by means of a pinned connection 12, the corresponding cross member 9 is hinged at its rear end to said support 11, and the rear end of the corresponding side member 10 is fitted to the actual pin 13 of the above-mentioned pinned connection 12 (figures 3 and 4).
As shown in fig. 5 and 6, when folding the stroller, since the support members 11 of the rear wheels are connected to the crossing cross members 8 and 9, they are folded as they turn around the pins 13 of the pinned connections 12 and are finally arranged below the rear legs 2, thereby reducing the overall length of the folding stroller.
Reference numeral 14 indicates the presence of a mudguard which may be provided for the wheel.
