背景技术
移动计算设备已开发用于增加可供用户在移动环境中使用的功能。例如,用户可以与移动电话、平板计算机或其它移动计算设备交互以查看电子邮件、上网、撰写文本、与应用程序交互等。然而,传统的移动计算设备常常采用使用设备的触摸屏功能进行访问的虚拟键盘。这通常用来最大化计算设备的显示面积的量。
然而,对于希望提供显著量的输入(例如为了撰写长的电子邮件、文档等而输入显著量的文本)的用户来说,虚拟键盘的使用可能是令人沮丧的。因此,常规的移动计算设备常常让人感觉对于此类任务具有有限的有效性,尤其是相比用户能使用例如常规台式计算机的常规键盘输入文本的方便性而言。然而,将常规键盘用于移动计算设备可能降低移动计算设备的移动性,并且因此可能使移动计算设备不太适合其在移动配置中的预期用途。
发明内容
描述了输入设备固定技术。在一个或多个实施中,压敏键包括具有一个或多个导体的传感器基板、隔离物层和柔性接触层。隔离物层邻近传感器基板设置且具有暴露传感器基板的一个或多个导体的至少一个开口,该开口限定压敏键的多个边缘。柔性接触层通过隔离物层与传感器基板间隔开且被配置成响应于施加的压力而穿过开口挠曲以接触传感器基板的一个或多个导体以便引发输入。柔性接触层固定到隔离物层,使得:在第一边缘处,柔性接触层在第一边缘的大约中点处固定到隔离物层且沿第一边缘的另一部分不固定到隔离物,并且在第二边缘处,柔性接触层沿着第二边缘的大约中点不固定到隔离物层。

具体实施方式
概述
压敏键可用作输入设备的一部分以支持诸如大约3毫米的较薄的形状因数。然而,压敏键可能不提供对于常规机械键盘常见的一定程度的反馈,并且因此可能导致对键盘的预期键的漏击和部分击中。此外,压敏键的常规配置常常由于被挠曲的材料的柔韧性而导致不同的灵敏度,例如,相比键的边缘,在键的中心区域通常观察到更大的挠曲。因此,常规的压敏键可导致对采用这些键的设备的不一致的用户体验。
描述了输入设备固定技术。在一个或多个实施中,压敏键被配置成提供归一化输出,例如以抵消在压敏键的不同位置处的柔韧性的差异。例如,在键的边缘处的灵敏度相比在键的中心处的灵敏度可以增加,以解决在这些位置处的键的灵敏度的差异问题。
可以多种方式调整灵敏度。例如,可通过支撑结构和/或用来将柔性接触层固定到隔离物层的粘合剂的布置来调整灵敏度。这可以用来沿着沿键的边缘的不同位置改变柔韧性。也可对不同的键调整灵敏度。例如,根椐在键盘上的位置,可以使用不同的手指以及手指的不同部分按压不同的键。因此,也可执行粘合剂的布置以解决这些差异问题。结合以下章节可以看到包括压力平衡设备的形成和使用的这些和其它特征的进一步讨论。

示例性环境
图1是在可利用本文所述技术进行操作的示例性实施中的环境100的图示。图示环境100包括经由柔性铰链106物理地且可通信地耦接到输入设备104的计算设备102的示例。计算设备102可以多种方式被配置。例如,计算设备102可被配置用于移动用途,例如移动电话、如图所示的平板计算机等。因此,计算设备102可从具有实体存储器和处理器资源的完全资源设备(full resource device)到具有有限存储器和/或处理资源的低资源设备变化。计算设备102也可涉及使计算设备102执行一个或多个操作的软件。
例如,计算设备102示出为包括输入/输出模块108。输入/输出模块108代表与计算设备102的输入的处理和输出的呈现有关的功能。可由输入/输出模块108处理多种不同的输入,例如,与对应于输入设备104的键、由显示设备110显示的虚拟键盘的键的功能有关的输入,该功能用来辨识手势并使对应于可通过输入设备104和/或显示设备110的触摸屏功能识别的手势的操作被执行,等等。因此,输入/输出模块108可通过识别和利用包括按键、手势等的各输入类型之间的区分来支持多种不同的输入技术。
在图示示例中,输入设备104被配置为具有键的QWERTY布置的键盘,但也可想到键的其它布置。此外,还可以想到其它非常规配置,例如游戏控制器、用于模仿乐器的配置等。因此,输入设备104和输入设备104所包括的键可以呈现多种不同的配置以支持多种不同的功能。
如前所述,输入设备104在该示例中通过使用柔性铰链106而物理地且可通信地耦接到计算设备102。柔性铰链106为柔性的,因为通过形成铰链的材料的挠曲(如弯曲)而不是由销支持的机械旋转来实现由铰链支持的旋转移动,但也可想到其它的实施例。此外,这种柔性旋转可被配置成支持在一个方向上(例如在图中竖直地)的移动,但又限制在其它方向上的移动,例如输入设备104相对于计算设备102的横向移动。这可以用来支持输入设备104相对于计算设备102的一致对齐,例如以对齐用来改变电源状态、应用程序状态等的传感器。
例如,柔性铰链106可使用一个或多个织物层形成并可包括形成为柔性迹线的导体,以便将输入设备104可通信地耦接到计算设备102,反之亦然。这种通信例如可用来将按键的结果通信到计算设备102、从计算设备接收电源、执行认证、为计算设备102提供补充电源等。柔性铰链106可以多种方式被配置,结合下图可以看到对其的进一步讨论。
图2描绘了图1的输入设备104的示例性实施200,更详细地示出了柔性铰链106。在该示例中,输入设备的连接部分202被示出为配置成在输入设备104和计算设备102之间提供通信和物理连接。在该示例中,连接部分202的高度和横截面被配置成接纳在计算设备102的壳体的通道中,但在不脱离其精神和范围的情况下,也可以颠倒这种布置。
连接部分202通过使用柔性铰链106而柔性地连接到包括键的输入设备104的一部分。因此,当连接部分202物理地连接到计算设备时,连接部分202和柔性铰链106的组合支持输入设备104相对于计算设备102的移动,这种移动类似于书的铰链。
例如,旋转移动可由柔性铰链106支持,使得输入设备104可抵靠计算设备102的显示设备110放置并因此充当覆盖件。输入设备104也可旋转,以便抵靠计算设备102的背面设置,例如抵靠计算设备102的后壳体,该后壳体背对显示设备110设置在计算设备102上。

机械耦接突起208、210被配置成接纳在计算设备102的通道内的互补腔体内。当被如此接纳时,在施加与限定为对应于突起高度和腔体深度的轴线不对齐的力时,机械耦接突起208、210有助于在设备之间的机械结合。
例如,当施加与此前描述的顺着突起高度和腔体深度的纵向轴线不重合的力时,用户克服由磁体单独地施加的力以将输入设备104与计算设备102分开。然而,在其它角度下,机械耦接突起208、210被配置成机械结合在腔体内,从而除了磁性耦接设备204、206的磁力之外形成阻止从计算设备102移除输入设备104的力。这样,机械耦接突起208、210可以对输入设备104从计算设备102的移除施加偏压,以模仿从书上撕下书页并限制分开装置的其它尝试。
连接部分202也示出为包括多个通信触点212。多个通信触点212被配置成接触计算设备102的对应通信触点,以在设备之间形成通信耦接。通信触点212可以多种方式配置,例如通过使用多个弹簧加载的销形成,这些销被配置成在输入设备104和计算设备102之间提供一致的通信触点。因此,通信触点可被配置成在推撞设备的轻微移动期间保持。还可以想到多种其它示例,包括将销置于计算设备102上和将触点置于输入设备104上。
图4描绘了图2的输入设备104的键盘的压敏键400的剖视图的示例。压敏键400在该示例中示出为使用柔性接触层402(如聚酯薄膜)形成,柔性接触层402使用隔离物层406、408与传感器基板404间隔开,隔离物层406、408可形成为形成于传感器基板404等上的聚酯薄膜或其它可弯曲材料的另一个层。在该示例中,当不抵靠柔性接触层402施加压力时,柔性接触层402不接触传感器基板404。
柔性接触层402在该示例中包括力敏油墨410,力敏油墨410被设置在被配置成接触传感器基板404的柔性接触层402的表面上。力敏油墨410被配置成使得油墨的阻力的量直接相对于所施加的压力的量而变化。力敏油墨410例如可被配置成具有相对粗糙的表面,在抵靠柔性接触层402施加压力时,该表面被压靠在传感器基板404上。压力的量越大,力敏油墨410被压缩得越多,从而增加传导性和减小力敏油墨410的阻力。在不脱离其精神和范围的情况下,也可将其它导体设置在柔性接触层402上,这些其它导体包括其它类型的压敏和非压敏导体。

图5描绘了图4的压敏键400的示例500,其将压力施加在柔性接触层402的第一位置处以造成力敏油墨410与传感器基板404的对应第一位置接触。压力通过使用图5中的箭头示出并且可以通过多种方式施加,例如由用户的手指、触笔、笔等。在该示例中,施加由箭头所指示的压力的第一位置大体上位于柔性接触层402的中心区域附近,该区域被设置在隔离物层406、408之间。由于这种定位,柔性接触层402可以被视为大体上柔性的(如可弯曲的和/或可拉伸的)且因此对压力反应灵敏。
这种柔韧性允许较大面积的柔性接触层402和因此力敏油墨410接触传感器基板404的导体412。因此,可以生成相对强的信号。此外,由于柔性接触层402的柔韧性在该位置相对较高,可以通过柔性接触层402转移相对大量的力,从而将该压力施加到力敏油墨410。如前所述,这种压力的增加可造成力敏油墨的传导性的相应增加和油墨阻抗的减小。因此,相比位于更靠近键的边缘处的柔性接触层402的其它位置,在第一位置处的柔性接触层的相对大量的柔韧性可造成相对较强的信号生成,结合下图描述这样的示例。
图6描绘了图4的压敏键400的示例600,其将压力施加在柔性接触层402的第二位置处以造成与传感器基板404的对应的第二位置接触。在该示例中,被施加压力的图6的第二位置位于比图5的第一位置更靠近压敏键的边缘(例如,更靠近隔离物层406的边缘)处。由于这种定位,柔性接触层402具有相比第一位置降低的柔韧性且因此对压力反应较不灵敏。
这种降低的柔韧性可造成与传感器基板404的导体412接触的柔性接触层402和因此力敏油墨410的面积的减小。因此,在第二位置处产生的信号可能弱于在图5的第一位置处产生的信号。
此外,由于柔性接触层402的柔韧性在该位置相对较低,可以通过柔性接触层402转移相对少量的力,从而减少传递到力敏油墨410的压力的量。如前所述,相比图5的第一位置,这种压力的减小可造成力敏油墨的传导性的相应减小和油墨的阻抗的增加。因此,相比第一位置,柔性接触层402在第二位置处减小的柔韧性可造成相对较弱的信号生成。此外,这种情况可以被部分击中加重,在该部分击中相比图5的第一位置,用户的手指的较小部分能够在图6的第二位置处施加压力。
然而,如前所述,可以将用来固定柔性接触层402与隔离物层406的粘合剂布置(如图案化)成在键的所需位置处有助于促进柔性接触层402的柔韧性,结合下图可以看到对其的进一步讨论。

不论用来将柔性接触层402固定到隔离物层406的技术如何,可以根据需要通过允许沿开口的边缘的柔性接触层402的部分保持不固定而配置柔韧性。例如,第一固定部分714和第二固定部分716可以限定唯一的区域,柔性接触层402在该区域上沿着相应的第一边缘702和第二边缘704固定到隔离物层406。因此,类似于图5和图6的边缘讨论,例如由于柔性接触层在边缘上的滑动、允许增加的拉伸等,随着在压力的接触点和固定部分之间的距离减小,柔性接触层402的柔韧性可能降低。
然而,反之也是正确的,因为施加的压力离固定部分越远,柔韧性越增加。因此,通过包括沿边缘的部分(在该沿边缘的部分处,柔性接触层402并不固定(在近端)到隔离物层406),可以增加沿开口710的边缘的柔韧性。因此,如何将柔性接触层402固定到隔离物层404的不同布置可用来在柔性接触层402的不同位置处支持不同量的柔韧性。
例如,如图所示,第一固定部分712和第二固定部分714定位成比第一固定部分712和第三固定部分716更靠近在一起。因此,在第一固定部分712和第三固定部分716之间的点(如中点)可具有比在第一固定部分712和第二固定部分714之间的对应点(如中点)更大的柔韧性。这样,设计者可以将柔性接触表面402配置成根据需要在特定位置处增加或减小柔韧性。

例如,如图所示,在基准键位行(home row)中的相应键(如键43-55)的支撑结构的布置不同于在紧邻的下面一行中的一行键(如键56-67)的支撑结构的布置。这可以用来解决可能在“哪里”按下键的问题,例如在中心或该键的四个侧面中特定的一个侧面处。这也可以用来解决可能“如何”按键的问题,例如,使用手指肚而不是用户的指甲来按键,可能用用户的哪根手指按键等等。因此,如在图9的示例性粘合剂层900中所示,可以将不同的布置用于不同行的键以及不同列的键。

图9B描绘了包括可用来减少滞留空气的矩阵的层950的另一个示例性实施。在该示例中,利用巧妙的粘合剂布置(或其它固定技术)来减少连续的层之间的滞留空气。在先前的示例中,描述了在传感器基板/柔性接触层接口中的通风的迷宫密封。
在该示例中,层(例如在传感器基板202下面)不被配置为“全出血粘合剂片”,而是将连续层结合在一起的粘合贴片的方阵。这允许更容易地组装并消除了层之间的滞留空气。这样,可以通过粘合剂构造将多个层结合在一起以实现薄型轮廓、刚度并允许组件的内部电子器件嵌套。
示例性系统和设备

在第一所述边缘处,所述柔性接触层在第一所述边缘的大约中点处固定到所述隔离物层,并且沿着第一所述边缘的另一部分不固定到所述隔离物;并且
在第二所述边缘处,所述柔性接触层沿着所述第二所述边缘的大约中点不固定到所述隔离物层。

所述柔性接触层沿着设置在所述第一和第二位置之间的第一和第二所述边缘的部分不固定到所述隔离物层。
7.根据权利要求6所述的压敏键,其中:
所述柔性接触层在第三位置处沿着第三所述边缘固定到所述隔离物层,第三所述边缘取向为大体上垂直于第一所述边缘且大体上平行于第二所述边缘;并且
所述柔性接触层沿着设置在第一和第三位置之间的第一和第三所述边缘的部分不固定到所述隔离物层。
8.根据权利要求7所述的压敏键,其中所述第一位置比所述第三位置更靠近所述第二位置。
9.一种输入设备(104),包括:
传感器基板(404),其具有第一压敏键的第一组一个或多个导体和第二压敏键的第二组一个或多个导体;
隔离物层(406),其邻近所述传感器基板设置且具有分别暴露所述第一和第二组导体的第一和第二开口;以及
柔性接触层(402),其通过所述隔离物层与所述传感器基板间隔开且被配置成响应于施加的压力穿过所述第一和第二开口挠曲以分别接触所述第一和第二组导体以便引发相应的第一和第二输入,其中将所述柔性接触层沿着所述第一压敏键的一个或多个边缘固定到所述隔离物层的粘合剂的布置不同于将所述柔性接触层沿着所述第二压敏键的一个或多个边缘固定到所述隔离物层的粘合剂的布置。
10.一种输入设备(104),包括:
传感器基板(404),其具有相应的多个压敏键的多组一个或多个导体;
隔离物层(406),其邻近所述传感器基板设置且具有分别暴露多组导体的多个开口;
柔性接触层(402),其通过所述隔离物层与所述传感器基板间隔开且被配置成响应于向导体的相应的所述组施加的相应压力穿过所述多个开口挠曲以引发相应的输入,以及
压力平衡设备(902),其形成为一系列相连的通道,所述通道将所述多个开口中的一个或多个连接到所述输入设备的外部区域,以允许所述外部区域的空气压力与所述多个开口中的一个或多个内的空气压力大体上平衡。
