A terminal wire block 10 comprises a spring clamp 14 and a screw clamp 16 to hold an electrical wire 12 in a fixed position, wherein the spring clamp 14 and screw clamp 16 secure the wire 12 independently of each other. The spring clamp 14 comprises a cage 24 with an opening for wire insertion, an inner wall and a biasing element (e.g. spring) to secure the wire against the inner wall of the cage 24. The screw clamp 16 comprises an externally threaded fastener 50 (e.g. screw) which is tightened to hold the wire 12 in place. In a separate embodiment, a housing of another terminal wire block 150 has an opening 164 for wire insertion and a fastener 159 of the screw clamp 156 is operatively connected to a biasing element (e.g. spring 154) of the spring clamp 152. When pressure is applied to the fastener 159, the spring 154 is deflected and the housing opening 164 becomes aligned with a cage opening 180 allowing insertion of the wire into the cage 158.
