Description

Hairdressing tongs
Subject matter of the invention
The present invention relates to a hair clipper for smoothing and styling hair.
Technical Field
Haircutting pliers are already available on the market, comprising two heating pads and equipped with a reservoir for the simultaneous emission of steam. The spacer is fixed to the ends of two handle arms connected by a pin and a spring, keeping the two arms apart from each other in a rest position.
The two arms are moved starting from the position of maximum opening by holding the handle by hand, and then the two pads integral with the arms are brought closer to each other through a varying acute angle, the two pads being in contact with each other and in a substantially parallel position at the end of the stroke.
A lock of hair is sandwiched between two heated blocks so that it can be slid between the heated blocks to flatten the hair and, if desired, to emit steam derived from water from a reservoir to assist one heated block in contact with the steam.
This type of pliers, which open at an oblique angle, has a fundamental drawback in that it cannot be easily adapted to different hairstyles, and in particular to locks of hair of the same thickness, which have a greater effect on the gripped hair on one side than on the other. In fact, in the case of two arms hinged about the same axis, the angle between the two openings always varies as the arms are separated. The pad can therefore follow the shape of the lock only imperfectly. Such devices also do not allow the user to achieve all desired styling effects.
Object of the Invention
The object of the present invention is to avoid the above-mentioned drawbacks and in particular to try to make the two arms constituting the handle not light obliquely open.
In particular, it is an object of the present invention to provide a hair clamp, whichAllowing the user to vary the grip according to the desired haircutting effect.Features of the invention
In conventional practice, the hair clipper of the present invention includes heated pads secured to the ends of the two arms of the handle. However, the two arms are mounted in a floating manner, that is to say a central part of the handle serves as a guide for the two arms, so that the two arms can be moved laterally from a fully retracted position, i.e. from a position in which the hand grip and the two heating pads are in full contact with each other, to a maximum spaced-apart position, bringing the arms into contact with the stop end of the central part, the spring element remaining in this maximum spaced-apart position, that is to say in a rest position, in the absence of a force on the arm of the handle.
The rear of the two arms is held by hand to the fully depressed position and the front of the two arms is gradually depressed and the jaws are closed in the conventional manner, that is to say at an oblique angle. However, the front and rear of the handle arm can be pressed in the same way, while closing the pad in a parallel manner and making full contact with the lock of hair. If pressure is applied to the front face, the pads are brought closer together at the top end, for example, which allows for precise handling of very short hairs or for trimming of hairs.
This method of articulating the joint may transmit all of the sensitive motion of the user's finger to the pad.
Depending on whether the pressure on the front or rear of the handle is balanced or whether the pressure is increased on the front or rear, the pads will move relative to each other in a parallel manner or be biased toward forward or rearward contact. The pad can therefore follow the shape of the lock completely, regardless of the thickness and regularity of the hair.
Preferably, the arms of the handle have the shape of two half-shells surrounding the central part of the handle.
Two openings are made in the central piece, one before and one after. Allowing the passage of a spring operating under compression. Each spring pushes the two arms away from each other until contact is made with the stop end of the central member. Preferably, there is a pin or other fastener to hold the end of the spring in place.
Various attachments to assist in hair cutting operations may be added to the pliers just described, as will appear from the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention.
Brief Description of Drawings
Figure 1 shows a cross-sectional view (limited to the main part) of a hair clipper of the present invention;
FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C illustrate the hair clamp of the present invention in three positions of use;
FIGS. 3A, 3B and 3C illustrate different possible ways of mounting a pad on a hair clamp;
fig. 4 illustrates a possible manner of mounting an accessory on a hair clamp.
The same reference numbers will be used throughout the drawings to refer to the same or like parts.
Description of embodiments of the invention
The hair clipper, generally designated by the reference numeral 1, comprises two heated pads 3 and 5 connected to a handle 7. In these two pads there are provided resistors (not shown) powered by wires passing through the handle 7. The handle 7 comprises a central member 9 and two arms 11 and 13.
The arm 11 extends to a nose 15 in which the hot pad 3 is mounted, and the arm 13 extends to a nose 17 in which the hot pad 5 is mounted.
At both ends of the central member 9 there are stop ends 19 which abut against the upper steps 21 of the arms 11 and 13.
Springs 23 and 25 are held by pins, respectively in front of and behind handle 7, and separate arms 11 and 13 from each other, and thus also heat blocks 3 and 5 from each other.
It can be readily seen that by pressing evenly on the rear portion of the clamp (see fig. 2A), the front and rear portions (fig. 2B) or the front portion (fig. 2C), the clamp, or more precisely the heating pad, can assume a position of angular separation, a parallel position or a position of clamping at the front end of the heating pad. Other intermediate positions may also be present, thus providing the user with the possibility of performing all hair styling.
The two arms 11 and 13 preferably take the form of half-shells covering the two side walls integral with the central part 9, the handle also being closed at its front and rear ends.
The upper nose 15 of the clamp is provided with a reservoir 31 which can be removed for filling and which communicates with the pods 3, for example under the action of a control button on the handle 7, to produce a vapour emission on or between the pods.
Figure 3A shows the noses 15 and 17 which extend from the arms 11 and 13 and receive the pods 3 and 5 therein so that the noses form a protective shell for the pods.
In the case of fig. 3B, the heating pads 3 and 5 are mounted in a protruding manner at the ends of the arms 11 and 13.
According to another variant, shown in figure 3C, the heating pads 3 and 5 can slide on rods 33 and 35 integral with the arms 11 and 13.
The heating pads may be fixed or interchangeable and may have any suitable shape, such as flat, convex, concave, wavy, etc.
The spacer may also be oriented along the axis or reversed, as desired by the user.
As shown in fig. 4, the nose 15 may be shaped to receive one or more adapters 37, for example, adapters provided with double rows of comb teeth.
Of course, numerous variations are possible in accordance with the invention while remaining within the scope defined in the following claims.
