Description

The invention relates to U-shaped metallic, especially steel sheet, cable channel covers as defined in claim 1.
The use of plastic or metal cables is widespread throughout the world and offers the great advantage of being able to install and retrofit electrical lines of all kinds in buildings conveniently and aesthetically.
The use of a special connector has proved useful, and the use of a special connector has been shown to be effective.
Originally, these so-called grounding flags were installed afterwards, but since some time the connecting flags have been made from the sheet of the cable channels themselves, by making a three-sided free cut and bending the flag so that the connectors can be conveniently suspended.
The grounding flags are located on the sub-sections of the cable channels as well as on the caps. A more recent example is DE-A-40 36 249. The grounding flags are formed by cutting free sections of the side wall of the channel cap on three sides and then angling the free section of this side wall.
The present invention is therefore based on the task of improving the tensile strength of cable channel covers.
This task is solved by a type-specific cover with the characteristics of claim 1.
The continuous material step at the free edge of the U-shaft preserves the high bending stiffness of the conventional lids, so that the lid according to the invention can be treated in practical operation as a lid without integrated connecting rods and whose U-shaft is therefore completely unworked.
The purpose of the drawing is to illustrate the invention in detail by means of an example of an embodiment. Fig. 1 an overview of the inside of a metal sheet cover for cable channels,Fig. 2 a side view of the cover of Fig. 1 andFig. 3 a front view of the cover of Fig. 1.
Figures 1 and 2 show a cable channel cover consisting of a sheet of sheet metal, e.g. steel sheet, the edges of which are angled to form a U-shaped cross-section.
As can be seen in particular from Figure 2, a roughly U-shaped cross-section 4 has been made in the U-shaft area 2 by cutting or punching, leaving a connecting rod 3 and the dimensions of the connecting rod 3 have been chosen so that one of the common commercial connectors 11 can be suspended.
It is understood that the connecting lamp 3 may also have other shapes and dimensions, for example to directly connect, weld or solder electrical potential compensation lines 10.
In order to facilitate the insertion of connector 11, the connecting rod 3 may be bent inwards as shown in Figure 3, but in all cases a continuous material 5 is left at the free edge of the U-beam 2 which gives the lid 1 the required bending strength despite the material weakening caused by the free section 4.

Claims (1)

  1. A cover (1) of sheet metal, in particular sheet steel, of U-shaped cross-section for cable conduits, wherein the U-arms (2) are profiled for a locking connection with the cable conduit and have at intervals connecting lugs (3), which are formed by cutting and bending, for attaching and fitting electric leads (10) and plug-type connectors (11) respectively, characterised in that the clearance cut (4) surrounding the connecting lug (3) is positioned so that a continuous material web (5) remains at the free edge of the U-arm (2).
