Description

Electronic settlement method using portable terminal
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an electronic settlement method using a mobile terminal incorporating an electronic camera or an artificial retina chip, an authentication server for electronic settlement, and a mobile terminal.
Background
Conventionally, a method of settling a payment for a commodity or service transaction is mainly performed by using a plastic card to which a magnetic stripe is attached, as typified by a credit card, and the settlement is completed by reading personal information stored in the magnetic stripe by a card reader and identifying an individual by collating the personal information with data unique to a company managing the magnetic stripe. However, in view of the current situation that criminal acts such as counterfeiting credit cards are frequently performed, IC cards that are difficult to counterfeit are being used in recent years.
Electronic settlement using online authentication has also started to progress, and in addition to credit cards, people are trying to strengthen security by combining encryption technology and passwords, etc., so that the card number is difficult to be interpreted by the outside.
The IC card can hold a very large amount of information, which is advantageous in portability, but lacks an recognizable sense of portability, only to the extent of "really in a wallet". Also, the credit card itself is often placed in a wallet, risking theft and bag loss.
In recent years, a mobile phone (mobile phone) which has been widely used is inferior in portability to a credit card or the like, but has a moderate feeling of portability when carried. In addition, since a portable telephone is difficult to be stolen from the viewpoint of the use value of a third party, compared with a wallet, an electronic settlement method using a portable telephone has been developed.
For example, a method is known in which after an order is made for a commodity by a portable telephone, a voice call is made to a settlement server system, and important information such as a credit card number is input by a key to settle a credit card. In this electronic settlement method, when important information such as a credit card number is transmitted and received, the internet with a high risk of being used maliciously is not used, but the method is switched to a voice call method, and information is transmitted by key input (button input). However, it is difficult to say that the security is ensured even if the transmission signal is encrypted.

Detailed Description
Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 is an overall explanatory diagram of the electronic settlement method of the present invention, and a range 20 enclosed by a dotted line in the diagram shows a state in which a display (cash register) 21 of commodity information and the like provided at a site where various commodities or various services are provided or sold, an automatic vending machine 22 provided with a display unit of commodity information and the like, and a sales management server 23 for managing and operating them are connected to each other via a network 50 such as the internet. Reference numeral 24 is a network line connecting the display (cash register) 21, the vending machine 22, and the management server 23.
Conventionally, settlement of a payment using a credit card, a cash card, a debit card, or the like is performed by directly connecting a display (cash register) 21 or an automatic vending machine 22 to a sales management server 23 via a network line 24 within the range 20, and when a credit card is used, personal authentication is established by separately combining a card reader.
In fig. 1, a mobile terminal server 31 for operating and managing mobile terminals 30, and …, such as mobile phones, is connected to a network 50, and each mobile terminal 30 and the mobile terminal server 31 are connected by a wireless link 32.
Reference numeral 10 denotes an authentication server which decodes a signal transmitted from the mobile terminal 30 and gives personal authentication, and is connected to the network 50 and the sales management server 23 via a dedicated line 60. Note that reference numeral 11 denotes a mail server exclusively used for receiving image information, and a storage medium 12 of the mail server 11 and a folder 13 provided therein are shown.
The basic flow of the settlement method of the present invention will be described with reference to fig. 2.
In the present invention, the mobile terminal 30 incorporates an artificial retina sensor module 30a (hereinafter also simply referred to as "artificial retina chip") and captures, as image data, product (service) information calculated and displayed by the display 21 (or the display of the vending machine 22) by the camera mechanism (path 201).
As shown in a graph format for convenience of explanation in fig. 6, for example, the product (service) information includes an item No. (number) 601, an item name 602, a display item name 603, and a code 604 in a horizontal row direction, and it is shown that the respective records are repeated a plurality of times in 608 to 613. The reason why the items 1 and 2(608), 3 and 4(609), 5 and 6(610), 7 and 8(611), 9 and 10(612) are almost repeated (here, twice repeated) is to prevent misreading in image recognition described later. That is, the image recognition operation is terminated only when the code values of the items No.1 and No.2(608) are the same among the values of the english or numeric characters after the image recognition, and the retransmission request is made in other cases. This is also the same for the other items (609, 610, 611, 612).
Note that, as examples of the contents, an item name group 605, a display item name group 606, and a code group 607 are shown.
The commodity information is preferably encrypted before shooting after confirming the contents.
In fig. 3, a screen 303 displayed on a liquid crystal screen 301 or the like in the display 21 is illustrated, which displays content 304, and transmission data 305 transmitted from the portable terminal 30. As shown in the figure, although the commodity transaction information is preferably encrypted as alphanumeric characters, since the commodity transaction information indicated by characters is photographed and converted into image data, there is no need for encryption. Further, in the case of displaying kana characters, since erroneous judgment is likely to occur in the image recognition processing, it is preferable to use alphanumeric characters.
The display 21 may be a monitor of a personal computer terminal connected to the internet as long as it can display commodity transaction information.
The image data is transmitted from the mobile terminal 30 to the authentication server 10 via the mobile terminal server 31 as a signal conversion server for connecting to the network 50 (path 202).
The image data received by the authentication server 10 is subjected to character recognition by an image recognition unit provided therein, and the authentication server 10 performs authentication of the mobile terminal 30 and then transmits the product information and the personal information to the sales management server 23 (path 203). The transmission line at this time is set to a line that does not allow external access, such as the dedicated line 60. In the transmission, in addition to the use of the dedicated line 60, security can be further improved by an encryption system or the like between the two.
Finally, the sales management server 23 transmits settlement permission information to the display 21 or the like based on a normal procedure of a credit sales company or the like (path 204), thereby completing settlement of the payment.
In the method of the present invention, since the display screen 303 of the display 21 is transmitted as an image signal from the portable terminal 30 to the authentication server 10, there is no danger of eavesdropping even on a communication line with low security such as the internet.
The authentication server 10 and the sales management server 23 may be physically configured as the same server.
Next, the acquisition and transmission method of the image data will be described.
Fig. 4 shows a configuration of a portable terminal 30 incorporating an artificial retina chip. The portable terminal 30 has functions of acquiring and transmitting image data, including a lens-integrated artificial retina LSI 401 in which a lens 402 and an artificial retina LSI 403 are integrated, a control unit 404 thereof, and a communication unit 405. The authentication server 10 is provided with an image processing algorithm means 408, and reference numeral 406 is a schematic image of an image signal transmitted from the communication means 405 of the mobile terminal 30 to the authentication server 10.
The display screen 303 of the display 21 is captured by the lens-integrated artificial retina LSI 401 of the mobile terminal 30, converted into image data by the artificial retina LSI 403 which has received an instruction from the control unit 404 through the lens 402, and captured into the control unit 404. This image data is transmitted as an image signal to the authentication server 10 via the communication unit 405 in a form schematically shown as 406, and is restored to english digital characters by the image processing algorithm mechanism 408 which is a part of its internal mechanism.
Fig. 5 is a software block diagram of the control unit 404, and the program of this portion is transmitted from the authentication server 10 to the control unit 404 of the portable terminal 30 each time the server 10 is accessed. The control section 404 includes a control section 500 for controlling the entire system, an imaging control section 501 for controlling imaging when an image to be imaged is imaged, an image memory section 502 for temporarily storing the imaged image data, an image file name memory section 504 for temporarily storing a file name given in advance by the authentication server 10 with respect to the image data, a mail generation section 503 for generating a mail in which the image data and the file name are associated with each other, and a destination address memory section 505 for storing a transmission address given in advance by the authentication server 10 until transmission.
Next, the operation of the mobile terminal adapted to the internet based on the software program transferred from the authentication server 10 will be described.
When a specific service menu of the portable terminal 30 suitable for the internet is selected, a program for controlling the portable terminal 30, such as a JAVA program, which is run in the portable terminal 30, is transmitted by the authentication server 10 transmitting the menu. The authentication server 10 issues a file name and a recipient address (mail address) for the image data together with the transmission program, and stores these in the image file name memory unit 504 and the recipient address memory unit 505, respectively.
The lens-integrated artificial retina LSI 401 starts the shooting control unit 501 in accordance with an instruction from the system control unit 500, and waits for an instruction to shoot. Here, for example, when the owner of the mobile terminal selects the "shooting" item in the menu, the shooting control section 501, which receives an instruction from the system control section 500, starts shooting and then ends shooting. Of course, if the portable terminal 30 is configured to include a shutter button, imaging can be performed without relying on a menu program. The captured image data is stored in the image memory unit 502 according to an instruction of the system control unit 500.
The system control unit 500 instructs the mail creation unit 503 to create the stored image data as a mail at the recipient address stored in the recipient address memory unit 505 by associating the file name with the stored image data, and then the system control unit 500 instructs the communication unit 405 to transmit the electronic mail (Email).
Fig. 7 is an explanatory diagram showing the flow of data transmitted from the mobile terminal 30 to the sales management server 23 via the authentication server 10.
The terminal ID 711 unique to the mobile terminal 30 is input to the header portion of the Email 700 transmitted from the mobile terminal 30 to the authentication server 10, and the image file name 714 of the additional image file 713 is processed in the body 712 of the Email. Further, the above-described captured image data 305 (or 406) is attached as an attached image file 713 of the Email 700.
The authentication server 10 analyzes and separates Email 700 as the composite signal into original individual signals (721), performs character recognition on the separated image data (722), and generates the analyzed and separated signals as transmission signals including sales-permitted data 731 including personal authentication data and commodity data (723). The transmission signal 730 is transmitted to the sales management server 23 via the dedicated line 60. The sales management server 23 determines whether or not the transaction is possible using the credit information device provided therein, and notifies the display 21 or the like of the result.
Next, the configuration of the authentication server 10 will be described with reference to a block diagram shown in fig. 8.
The authentication server 10 includes, as components that are normally required to perform processing, input/output, and reception/transmission of various data, a control unit 802 that controls the overall operation of the authentication server 10, a processing unit 803 that performs data processing, an input/output interface 801 that is connected to various input/output devices, the network 50, and the like, an input unit 805 that receives data from the output interface 801, an output unit 806 that outputs data, a storage unit 804 that temporarily stores data during data processing, a reception unit 807 that receives various data, and a transmission unit 808 that transmits various data.
The authentication server 10 includes, in addition to the above-described components that should be normally provided, a mail folder monitoring section 811 for monitoring whether or not an email 700 from the mobile terminal 30 has arrived at the designated folder 13 of the mail server 11, a mail program section 810 for taking the arrival mail into the authentication server 10, a mail data separating section 812 for analyzing and separating the arrival mail into original individual signals, a terminal ID determining section 813 for determining whether or not the separated terminal ID is a previously registered ID, a terminal ID storage section 814 for storing the registered terminal ID in a previously registered manner, an input pattern correcting section 816 for correcting the separated image data, a feature extracting section 815 for detecting a feature of an image character from the image data, a standard pattern storage section 817 for storing a standard pattern for image recognition in advance, and a standard pattern of the standard pattern storage section 817 for utilizing the standard pattern based on the feature thereof, the recognition unit 818 for performing character analysis and recognition includes a personal information storage unit 819 for storing personal information corresponding to the registered terminal ID in advance, and a permission information generation unit 820 for generating permission information including product information and personal information.
Next, the operation of the authentication server 10 will be described.
Email 700 with attached image file 713 reaches specified folder 13 of mail server 11 in fig. 1. The mail folder monitoring unit 811 that detects the arrival reports the arrival of Email to the control unit 802. The control unit 802 that has accepted the report instructs the processing unit 803 so that the arrival mail is transmitted to the storage unit 804 by the mail program unit 810. The transmitted mail is separated into respective data on a terminal ID, an image file name by the mail data separating unit 812.
Among the separated data, first, the terminal ID determination unit 813 inquires the terminal ID storage unit 814 of the terminal ID data and determines whether the terminal ID data is already registered.
If the transaction is not the terminal ID data already registered, the transaction is sent to the sales management server 23, and the display 21 or the like that receives the instruction from the sales management server 23 rejects the transaction of the product or service.
In the case of the registered terminal ID, the image recognition module issues a request to the permission information generation unit 820 for the image file as the next step. That is, in this image recognition module, first, image correction is performed on an image file by the input pattern correction unit 816, character features are detected by the feature extraction unit 815, and then, character recognition is performed by the recognition unit 818 using the standard pattern of the standard pattern storage unit 817 based on the character features, thereby restoring product data. At this time, as described with reference to fig. 6, the recognition section 818 checks the data that has been repeated a plurality of times, and determines whether or not the recognition is normal.
Next, the permission information generating unit 820 extracts personal attribute information corresponding to the terminal ID from the personal information storage unit 819, synthesizes the personal attribute information with commodity data obtained from the image file, and generates a transmission signal 730 containing sales permission data 731 shown in fig. 7. The transmission signal 730 is transmitted from the processing unit 803 to the sales management server 23 via the transmission unit 808 and the input/output interface 801.
In the above embodiment, all of the transaction information displayed on the display (cash register) 21 is transmitted as image data from the portable terminal 30 to the authentication server 10, but it is not necessary to transmit all of the transaction information. For example, the details of the product information may be checked between the display (cash register) 21 and the sales management server 23 on site, and the authentication server 10 may notify the sales management server 23 of the confirmation after acquiring the authentication of the mobile terminal 30, so that the settlement procedure is completed. According to such a method, the work of the authentication server 10 in the image recognition module can be reduced.
