Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for processing, handling and exploiting the liquid waste of milk-processing factories and particularly of cheese-making plants, by the use of divalent iron and hydrogen peroxide (Fenton reagent), as well as for the production of methane by the exploitation of the oxidative-process products by anaerobic digestion processes. The liquid waste oxidised by Fenton processes may further be treated to full cleaning by biological processes such as one-or two-step anaerobic digestion and/or aerobic digestion.
