Abstract

method of chemical recycle of Aluminium and its alloys, in various forms and degrees of purity, with a suitable reaction with hydrochloric acid, which can be adapted to all types and forms of recyclable aluminium, that produces a high yield of aluminium hydroxychloride (OA) used as a precipitating agent with the general molecular type, Aln(OH)3n-kClK, in any possible concentration and degree of basicity. The aluminium hydroxychloride produced with the proposed method has been thoroughly tested in a large number of effluent Treatment Units (where an inorganic flocculation agent is required)as well in units for water distillation. Providing yields equal or significantly better than other polyaluminium chlorides and simple argil or iron salts. The method, with the particular application mechanism, permits the use of inexpensive acid resistant materials (polyethylene, polyester, strong plastic, etc.) with an external metallic support. It is safe, easily adjusted and controlled, even by non-specialised personnel. It is flexible in what regards the type, the form and purity of the recyclable aluminium, the quality of aluminium hydrochloride produced, the production capacity, the autonomy and the fitting of the unit, even in the aluminium hydrochloride consumption unit. Is also has the ability of continuous, semi-continuous or batch operation, as well that of automatic, semi-automatic or manual operation.
