Abstract
The invention describes a closed-type lavatory cistern which does away with the float, the various washers which wear out, the risk of leakage and overflow as well as the undesirable sound of the cistern filling. Its operation is based on gradual filling with water up to the point where the pressure of the trapped air equalises with the pressure in the network. Then by an automatic return switch the cistern is discharged by the pressure from expansion of the trapped air in the upper part of the cistern.
