Abstract

The present invention refers to the design and construction of a new extensiometer capable of measuring simultaneously and independently axial displacement at several locations around the specimen surface during materials testing. The device performs accurate measurements during specimen loading under low (ambient) or high (up to 1400 o C) temperatures as well as under slow or very fast stress or strain rates (fatigue tests with frequencies up to 100 Hz at room temperature).
