Abstract

992,852. Magnetic couplings. EMMCO PTY. Ltd. March 2, 1962 [March 3, 1961; Nov. 1, 1961], No. 8124/62. Headings H2A and H2B. Rotary motion is converted into reciprocatory motion by the action of a transversely magnetized rotor 1 on a permanently magnetic armature 3 situated laterally of it, and if desired in a separate chamber. In modifications, the armature may have magnetized arms on either side of the rotor, or may swing as a pendulum about an axis parallel to the rotor axis. The device may operate contacts 8, 9, 10, as shown, or a counter ratchet for a meter.
