Abstract

997,506. Valves; stopping pipes. USINE DE WECKER S.a.r.L. Oct. 4, 1963 [Oct. 5, 1962], No. 39176/63. Headings F2P and F2V. In a valve operating between the ends of large diameter gas pipes 1 and 2, a plate 3, consisting of a gland member and a closure member, is displaceable therebetween, upon rollers 6 rotating on pipe end connecting bolts 7, by a rack 5 and pinion 4 drive. Peripheral seating is provided by a ring gasket 8 axially displaceable upon the pipe 2 and seated by a plurality of peripherally disposed resilient means 14, abutting collars 15 upon piston-rods 12 of pistons 11 within cylinders 10. The plate 3 is released by axial displacement of the piston 11 by pressure fluid supplied from a number of separate sources or a common source to the inlets 18.
