Abstract

996,455. Stud and socket fasteners. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. July 23, 1963 [July 25, 1962], No. 28605/62. Heading E2B. In a stud and socket fastener formed from plastics material the socket 12 has a tubular portion formed with a rib 22 and a flange 19 of larger cross-section than the tubular portion and the stud comprises a head 13 and shank 14 formed with grooves 15. The device is assembled as shown in Fig. 4, the socket being inserted in an aperture 26 of a member 25 and retained there by the neck portion 21, the stud being inserted through an aperture 27 of a second member 24 to engage in the socket, the parts being retained through engagement of the rib 22 with one of the grooves 15. The end of the socket is formed with a slot, which may be closed by a membrane, to facilitate removal dust collecting therein.
