996,038. Pipes and tubes. WM. HIGGINS & SONS (MANCHESTER) Ltd. June 1, 1964 [May 31, 1963], No. 21914/63. Heading F2P. A plurality of drainpipes lying side by side are connected together at their area of mutual contact, such that the bond between adjacent drainpipes is sufficient for any one pipe to bear the weight of the remainder but small enough of separation of one pipe from the other when required. Terracotta pipes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, preferably circular or hexagonal in shape, are joined along contacting faces the areas of such joints being limited by incisions 7, 8. The pipes may be made by extrusion, with metal straps or knives placed in the extrusion orifice to form the incisions.
