Abstract

989,606. Hydraulic motors and pumps. UNIPAT A.G. Dec. 19, 1963 [Dec. 19, 1962; Feb. 27, 1963], No. 50187/63. Heading F1A. An axial piston motor comprises a rotary cylinder block 1, a pair of pistons 3, 4, in each cylinder 2 bearing on inclined plates 8, 17, and a stub axle 31 fixed to the block 1, through which axle pass liquid passages 41, 42. The drive shaft 27 and stub axle 31 are located in bearings 29, 36 respectively and a bearing 63 opposes the axial thrust produced by the valve plate 47. A flange 64 on the shaft 27 bends elastically under this thrust. Hydraulic pressure acting in bores 48, 49 in the valve plate 47 and spring pressure in blind bores lying between the bores 48, 49 hold the plate 47 against the cylinder block 1. The invention is also applicable to an hydraulic pump and the face valve may be replaced by a pintle valve.
