Abstract

989,357. Boring earth &c. A. GRAFER, and G. NUSSE. Jan. 24, 1962, No. 2604/62. Heading E1F. In a drill head comprising rollers 6-11 mounted on a body comprising parts 2, 3, 4, the parts are held together by a shaft 1 which serves for the connection of the head to the drill rods. The parts are keyed to the shaft and are held together by a nut 15 adapted for engagement with a drill rod. The head carries a spray device 19, and a release collar 18 is interposed between the part 4 and the nut. In a modification facilitating the exchange of rollers, the parts abut at the axes of the rollers and are formed to coact with stub shafts on the rollers so that the rollers are each clamped between abutting parts.
