Abstract
973,434. Track aligning apparatus. F. PLASSER, [trading as FRANZ PLASSER BAHNBAUMASCHINEN]. Feb. 15, 1961 [March 7, 1960], No. 5674/61. Heading B7N. In track aligning apparatus comprising a track lifting and packing machine 1, reference lines 14 arranged parallel to the desired position of the track and measuring devices 81 positioned in front of the machine which co-operates with the reference lines, means are provided for automatically adjusting the height of the measuring devices as the machine advances to provide superelevation on curved portions of the track. The forward ends on the reference lines are supported by a trolley 4 clamped to the track and the rear ends pass over a pulley 5, positioned above an already corrected portion of the track, to a tensioned roller 6 which maintains tension in the reference lines and coils up the lines as the machine advances. The roller is driven by a transmission drive 7 which also drives, via a transmission rod 10, a cam disc 9 which varies the height of the upper portion 8 of the measuring rods 8<SP>1</SP>. The transmission drive 7 is coupled to the forward drive of the machine hence as the machine advances the reference lines are shortened and the height of the measuring devices is adjusted. A different cam disc is provided for each different radius of track curve.
