970,831. Vehicle independent rear suspensioris. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Sept. 16, 1963 [Oct. 27, 1962], No. 40690/62. Addition to 933,145. Heading B7D. The vehicle suspension system of the parent Specification, comprising a pair of longitudinal links 21 non-rotatably mounted by universal joints 23 at their forward ends and supporting wheel stub axles located laterally by drive shafts 11 universally connected at their ends to a differential gear unit 9 and to the stub axles, is mounted on a subframe which is connectible by resilient members 31, 37 to a vehicle's spring mass. The subframe comprises a pair of transverse members 1, 3 with the rubber members 31, 37 at their ends interconnected by longitudinal members 5, 7 and carries differential gear unit 9 and brackets for the Hooke's joints 23.
