Abstract
N, N1, N11-triorgano-B, B1, B11-trihalogenoborazoles are made by reacting an N,N1, N11-triorgano - B,B1,B11 - trihydrogen borazole (HB-NR)3, in which R is an alkyl, alkenyl, halogen-substituted alkyl, halogen-substituted alkenyl or substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl or aryl radicals, with a phosphorus pentahalide at temperatures above 0 DEG C., preferably 80 to 150 DEG C., 3 mols of hydrogen halide being split off per mol. of borazole. The reaction may be carried out in an inert solvent, e.g. a chlorinated hydrocarbon or aromatic compound. Examples describe the preparation of N,N1,N11-tris (2-chlorethyl) - B, B1, B11 - trichloroborazole, N, N1, N11-triethyl-B,B1, B11-trichloroborazole, N, N1, N11-triphenyl-B, B1, B11-trichloroborazole, N, N1, N11-dodecyl-B, B1, B11-trichloroborazole, N, N1, N11-triethyl-B, B1, B11-tribromoborazole. Specification 860,378 is referred to.
