978,577. Roofing tiles. REDLAND TILES Ltd., A. H. HARRIS, and A. H. WATSON. Feb. 18, 1963 [March 5, 1962], No. 8460/62. Heading E1B. A concrete roof tile having interfitting side edges 22, 25 and hanging ribs 35, is formed with one, two, or more, flat sided ridges 14 and with a correspondingly recessed underface so that tiles interfit in courses. The ridges are symetrical or otherwise and are formed with a flat, rounded, or as shown, with an angled peak. Ribs 27a 27b, 27c, on the underface at one end of the tile and two channels on the upper face at the opposite end of the tile are also provided. Depressions 33, 34 are formed to save weight and small projections 36 hold the tile clear of its supporting battens. Specification 840,179 is referred to.
