Abstract

967,327. Stoppers. SECIVEN, SOC. D'EXPLOITATION DE CHIMIE INDUSTRIELLE VORTURIEZ & NORMAND. Sept. 15, 1961 [May 16, 1961], No. 33241/61. Heading B8T. A closure for a container 1 comprises a member 2, joined by crimping at 21 to the container and having a recess 22 and a truncated conical part 23, and a stopper 3 comprising an outer truncated cone or cylinder 31 terminating in a bead 32 to fit into the recess 22, an inner truncated cone 33 which fits tightly around the member 23 to form an impervious seal, and a solid upper member 34 linking the members 31, 33 and closing at least the member 33. The member 23 may be closed at 24 as shown. The member 2 preferably comprises a layer of resilient material including the part 23 and a thin, upper metal layer. In a modification, the recess 22 is combined with the crimping at 21, the bead 32 then being inturned so that the stopper 3 fits outside the neck of the container. The members 23 and 33 may be inverted, in which case the member 33 fits inside the member 23, and the container 1 and member 2 may be integral. Specification 961,604 is referred to.
