967,244. Seed sowing machines. USINES EDOUARD DE SAINT-HUBERT. No. 2, 1961 [Nov. 3, 1960], No. 39309/61. Heading A1D. A furrow opener assembly for a seed sowing machine comprises a furrow opener 1 mounted on an arm 2 which is pivotally mounted in a box 4a which is clamped to an axle 5 of the sowing machine. A C- shaped element 13 is mounted on a sleeve 12 on the axle or pivot 3 of the arm 2. A spring 14 is connected to the bottom arm 13b and to a pin 15 on the arm 2. The working depth of the furrow opener is adjusted by means of a screw 16 which abuts against the top arm 13a of the element 13. A rake 19 is provided for covering the seed and is spring-urged into contact with the ground. The rake may be held clear of the ground by means of a pin 23.
