Abstract
966,407. Fuel cells. ESSO RESEARCH & ENGINEERING CO. March 22, 1962, No. 11007/62. Heading H1B. A battery comprises an assembly of bi-polar fuel cell electrodes having an inpermeable partition 21 between the adjacent electrodes 11, 13 and serving to separate the electrolyte of adjacent cells, whilst at the same time incorporating or forming a resilient electrically conductive member serving to absorb any thermal movement in the battery and to couple the cells in series. Various resilient devices are disclosed, including dimples pressed out of the partition springs and metal contacts passing through the partition.
