Abstract
966,146. Valves; Junction pieces. ENCO Ltd. April 19, 1963 [July 4, 1962], No. 25595/62. Headings F2G and F2V. In a discharge valve for tanks wherein a valve urged to a closed position is opened manually, the normal axis of the outlet port is inclined to the normal axis of the inlet port and the normal axis of the mounting face of an outlet adapter is inclined to the normal axis of the adapter outlet so that the angle between the body inlet and adapter outlet normal axes can be varied by the rotational mounting position of the adapter. Pivoted valve member 20 is urged, by a torsion-operated helical spring, upon " O " sealing ring 16 which also acts to seal between the valve body A and an outlet adapter D. The adapter D is bolted to the valve body H at mounting face 12 with the axis C of the mounting face (Fig. 1) at an angle of 11“ degrees to the axis B of the valve body inlet port 11, and the axis E of the adapter outlet port also at 11“ degrees to the axis C of the mounting face 12. The adapter is mounted to the valve body by four equi-spaced bolts and the Fig. 1 disposition of the axis E of the adapter outlet port parallel to the axis B of the body inlet port 11 may be translated to a relative inclination of 22¢ degrees upon 180 degrees rotational remounting of the adapter D.
