[Also in Division D1] Variation in the thickness of a travelling web of fabric is signalled to indicating or regulating means by up and down movement of floating centreless feeler rollers 2 resting on the web 3 and constrained against movement in, or opposite to, the direction of travel of the web, by rollers 4, mounted on a common spindle 10, and a fixed member 6 respectively. Vertical movement of the rollers 2 is imparted to small rollers 7 carried in forks 8 and a rocking lever system 9 imparts the averaged movement to a regulating system (not shown).
