A bag of wet-strength paper for containing soiled articles has at least one seam joined by an adhesive which is insoluble in water at low temperatures but dissolves in water at the temperature of washing or disinfecting. Preferably at least two seams are so formed. The Specification sets out suitable treatments to provide the wet-strength of the paper, and suitable adhesives.
