959,091. Venetian blinds. SHADOW ENGINEERING (WATFORD) Ltd. Nov. 8, 1961 [Nov. 9, 1960], No. 38550/60. Headings E1J and E2B. A venetian blind comprises slats 1, cut from a coil, supported on fabric laddering with the top of one vertical rail 3 of each set of laddering joined to a cord 21 which passes through either a clamp, formed by a U-bar 16, 13, 18 and a block 12, which may be released by pulling the cord 26 against the spring 19, or a jamming cam. The draw cords 9 are clamped in the same manner, and have their ends joined together. The lowermost slat has another slat clipped to it in a concave upwards configuration, with metal plates lying between these slats and having holes for the draw cords, which are knotted underneath said plates.
