958,171. Reciprocating pumps. WELTIS ENGINEERING CO. Ltd., and H. G. WELCH. July 27, 1962, No. 28947/62. Heading F1A. A foot or crank-actuated, doubleacting pump comprises a pump cylinder 4 and valve cylinders 3 and 5 clamped between plates 1, 2, e.g. by bolts, sealing being effected by O rings 32. An inlet shuttle valve 26 in cylinder 5 comprises rubber valve elements 25 mounted on a rod 27 and engageable with seats 29. An outlet shuttle valve 18 in cylinder 3 comprises a rubber moulding having faces 19 engageable with seats 20. The piston comprises a rubber disc 9 clamped between plates 10. In foot operation of the pump, a return spring or a heel-and-toe actuated treadle may be used. The valve cylinders 3, 5 are rotatable for positioning the inlet and outlet conduits 31, 21.
