Abstract

The Provisional Specification describes the flame-proofing of gold or silver lame yarn made from metallised polyester resin sheet, by treating with a composition comprising 80 parts by weight of a tris-dibromopropyl phosphate, 28 parts by weight of a low viscosity chlorinated rubber, 200 parts by weight of perchloroethylene, and 200 parts by weight of methylene chloride, such as to deposit an amount of brominated phosphate of 5-10% by weight of the yarn.
