Abstract
957, 823. Automatic speed control systems. SPECIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU G.m.b.H. June 20, 1962 [June 23, 1961 ), No. 23676/62. Heading G3R A transistorized automatic-speed-controlsystem for small shunt motors comprises a transformer 10 with a plurality of secondary windings supplying the motor, reference voltage, control circuits &c. Secondary 23.. 25 and rectifiers 5, 6 provide the power supply to the field 200 and the armature 204 through a reversing switch 202 and regulating transistor 50. The motor armature voltage (speed signal) is compared with the reference voltage from potentiometer 206 in the base-emitter circuit of transistor 203 to vary its impedance: Transistor 203 and transistor 207 form a potentiometer to provide a variable "blocking" voltage at point A, which is applied in series with sinusoidal pulses from rectifier 3 to transistor 30, so that only that portion of the pulses which exceeds the blocking voltage can pass. Hence pulses of variable width appear at the collector of transistor 30 and are amplified by transistor 40 to control the regulating transistor 50. Choke 207 and quench diode 205 provide a sustaining current through the armature while the regulating transistor 50 is switched off.
