[Also in Division B8] An exchangeable metering valve for dispensing a gas-pressurized liquid foam or paste from a dispenser provided with an outlet valve comprises a chamber 2 disposed inside a casing 1 and displaceable against the action of a spring 5, the chamber having a pipe 3 for connection with the dispenser valve, an opening 4 closable by a valve element 6, and a sealing element 7 normally closing the entry end of an outlet pipe 8. In operation, when the metering valve casing 1 is depressed, the entry end of the outlet pipe is first uncovered and, almost simultaneously, the opening 4 is sealed by the element 6. Continued downward pressure on the casing causes the pipe 3 to open the outlet valve in the dispenser and thereby permits pressurized liquid to enter the chamber 2. Upon release of the pressure on the casing, the outlet valve in the dispenser is closed, the valve element 6 lifts away from the opening 4, and the outlet pipe 8 closed. The liquid in the chamber then flows into the interior of the casing so that upon the next actuation of the metering valve the liquid is dispensed via the outlet pipe.
