956,933. Toffee &c. depositing. R. C. JAHN. Jan. 11, 1963 [Jan. 15, 1962], No. 1449/62. Heading A2B. For depositing hot, supersaturated sugar solutions such as boiled sugar or toffee into moulds or on to a moving band, without the occurrence of graining, there is employed an apparatus (Figs. 1 and 2) comprising a heated chamber 1 having an inlet 3 and an outlet 4, a heated supply hopper 15 connected with the inlet, a valve means 24 opening and closing the inlet and outlet. alternatively, a flexible diaphragm 7 cooperating with the chamber 1 which flexes in timed relation with the valve means to draw solution from the hopper through the inlet and pass it through the outlet, and means 9 to flex the diaphragm.
