[Also in Division F1] A hand drier includes an electric motor having an output power of less than 20 watts, a heater 5 and a single stage radial flow fan 1, the blades of which, extend from their inner peripheries outwardly and, at least initially, rearwardly with respect to the direction of rotation of the fan. The fan is located symmetrically or asymmetrically in a fan housing 2. The drier may include a time switch 7 and a low thermal capacity heater 5 which is arranged in the blowing aperture and comprises wires wound on a frame-like core having mounting members. The rotational speed of the motor is less than 3000 r.p.m.
