Abstract
954,815. Optical projectors with screens. M.G. S. MOVIEBOX GENERAL SYSTEM S.r.L. Nov. 20,1961 [Nov. 22, 1960], No. 41455/61. Heading G2J. A projector has interchangeable film holder magazines within which the film can be unwound and wound simultaneously on the same spool, and a set of mirrors one of which is displaceable to and from its working position during insertion and removal of a film holder magazine. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 light from a lamp 5 passes through condenser 6, mirror 7, the film contained in magazine M, prism 25, objective P and mirrors 8, 9, 10 to form an image of the film on screen 2. The film and prism 25 are moved by means of an electric motor which also actuates a fan for cooling the lamp S. The projector is equipped for reproducing sound. The film magazine M is slidable in a cavity 1<SP>1</SP> in the projector and is correctly positioned when a projector 14 engages a recess in it. In order that the projected part of the film should not press against mirror 7 as the magazine is inserted a projection of the magazine abuts against a projection 50 (Fig. 9) on a slidable lever 43 to move it downwards and by means of cam 46, 46<SP>1</SP>, 46<SP>11</SP> on the lever moves a support 39, on which the mirror 7 is pivoted and which has a pin 47 engaging cam 46, to the right and then back, thus pivoting the mirror 7 away from and back to its operative position. The reverse procedure happens when the magazine is withdrawn, lever 43 being raised by spring 43.
