Abstract
942,169. Auxiliary combustion chambers. MOTOREN-WERKE MANNHEIM A. G. VORM. BENZ. ABT. STAT. MOTORENBAU. Aug. 8, 1961 [Aug. 11, 1960], No. 28689/61. Heading FIB. A cylinder head arrangement for an internalcombustion engine comprises an air-cooled cylinder head 1 that includes a base plate 8, an auxiliary combustion chamber body 16, there being an orifice 19 for placing the auxiliary combustion chamber in communication with a cylinder space of the engine, an internal yoke 2 fixed in the cylinder head and including a ring 3 and arms 6 extending outwardly from the ring, and fixing bolts 10 detachably securing the body to the head the bolts being screwed into the arms and engaging an external yoke via nuts screwed on the bolts and the body being clamped between the ring and the external yoke by means of the nuts and bolts. As shown the yoke 2 is cast in the light metal cylinder head. The insert 11 and yoke 2 are preferably of heat resistant steel or cast iron.
