A suspended ceiling comprises tray-like elements the adjacent side walls of which are connected together by connecting members such as screws 3, some at least of the elements being suspended directly from a supporting structure by hangers or wires 5 connected to the walls. The elements suspended directly from the supporting structure may be arranged in rows spaced apart from each other, Fig. 4 (not shown) the spaces between the rows being filled by elements supported by said elements suspended directly from the structure.
