949,835. Brake spiders. STANDARD FORGE & AXLE CO. Inc. Sept. 22, 1960, No. 32660/60. Heading F2E. A brake shoe spider for an automotive vehicle comprises a plate portion 22 and an integral brake shoe supporting portion 40, Fig. 7, which comprises a pair of spaced flanges 34 joined by a bridge member 42, a slot 41 in the bridge member allowing constriction or enlargement of openings 33 for brake shoe mounting pins by means of a bolt which passes through an aperture 45. The slot 48 may be omitted.
