933,703. Gully boxes. W. LOFFLER. Dec. 5, 1959, No. 41404/59. Class 107. [Also in Group I] A gully box comprises a grating 11 fitted in a rotatable frame 10 and an inspection shaft, with an entry located within the grating and provided with a cover which fits flush with the grating surface, which allows access to both sides of a trap cill 39 for inspection and cleaning purposes. Trap portion 1, with outlet pipe 2, is surmounted by an intermediate ring 4 which engages a collar 5 supporting a flushing ring 6, which, in turn, supports the rotatable frame 10. The collar 5 is formed with a screw-threaded aperture 12 for receiving a waste water pipe and the height of the box may be varied by varying the length of intermediate ring 4 or, when the ring is formed with teeth 36 which co-operate with similar teeth 13 formed in the upper edge of the trap, by varying the angular position of the ring. A waterproof layer 25, e.g. of felt, is secured in a trough 19 formed in a sealing flange 18 by suitable sealing compound.
