Abstract

A polymer blend comprises (1) a homopolymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride, e.g. a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, and (2) a rubbery graft copolymer obtainable by polymerizing at least one monomer on to a vinyl chloride homo- or copolymer, e.g. graft copolymers of polyvinyl chloride with mixtures of butadiene and acrylonitrile, butadiene and methyl methacrylate and butadiene and ethyl acrylate. The graft copolymers may be obtained by the methods described in French Specification 1,309,809. Also present in the blends may be stabilizers, e.g. dibutyl tin maleate, dibutyl tin bis(monobutyl maleate) or a sulphur containing organo-tin compound, plasticizers, e.g. a phthalic acid ester of C7-C9 alcohols, further polymeric constituents, e.g. styrene-acrylonitrile copolymers, montan wax and stearic acid.
