Abstract

931,517. Paint brushes. JOHNSON & JOHNSON. July 25, 1961 [May 11, 1960], No. 16675/60. Class 19. A brush comprises a synthetic plastic handle 7 secured to a synthetic plastic ferrule 5 and bristles 4 secured within the ferrule by means of a wedge 1 which is resiliently compressible to accommodate swelling of the bristles sufficiently to prevent any substantial damage to the ferrule. The wedge may take the form of a V- or U-shaped steel spring but preferably comprises a resiliently compressible polythene tube. Specification 889,336 is referred to.
