Abstract

A non-flowing metal powder is mixed with a granulating agent, e.g. ethylene glycol or camphor, and a solvent and after removal of excess solvent is formed into a flowing granulated material having a particle size above 0.15 mm.; the remaining solvent is then evaporated, the material pressed, the granulating agent evaporated and the material sintered to form the required shaped article. The granulation is preferably performed by screening and the evaporation of the granulating agent is effected by heating and/or treatment under reduced pressure.
